Album Notes

Out Of Words is an original rock band from the Washington, DC area. Our line-up is Carl Kress on guitars and keyboards; Scott Ledford on drums; Mike Raso on bass; Carl Settlemyer on vocals and guitar. "Twister" is our debut album. The Washington Post calls it "smart and engaging", with lyrics that "catch you off guard." Twister features ten original songs recorded and mixed on portable Roland VS 1680 and 1880 digital recording units at various locations in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC and Delaware at the turn of the century. The recordings were then lovingly transferred to brittle wax cylinders and ZIP disks for archival storage, and were copied and mass produced by fancy machines in "compact disc" format for public sale and distribution. We produced the album ourselves, which was a tremendously edifying and humbling experience. It was also immensely rewarding and we hope that the result is an album that you enjoy and that your friends will want to "borrow" from you and not give back until you sneak it out of their car when they aren't paying attention. However, we are pleased that their private efforts allow us to present you with selections from their studio album Twister, an eclectic selection of tunes that recalls everything from Dick Dale to early Hoodoo Gurus to the Afghan Whigs." Smart power pop with tons of hot licks
author: David Sattler
Smart, hooky and full of great guitar. Only complaint: no printed lyrics. (Lyrics available on website, though.) if these guys had a second CD I'd buy it in an instant.
