notes
Tfilotai was created by Orit Perlman in collaboration with the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem as part of an in depth musical program given to the educators of the reform movement in Israel.
The prayer melodies and texts, whether collected from our rich musical heritage, contemporary or original, are relived with purity of expression and deep spirituality.
Weaving the music along with Orit Perlman are the two brilliant classical musicians Yuval Kanfi on the piano and Julia Garfinkel on the viola, as well as the magician acoustic guitarist and vocalist Boaz Sternberg and the deep hearted drummer Yair Smoilov. The disk in its entirety was brewed in the pine scented salt whiffed kitchen of the Carmel to be served in the royal chambers of Jerusalem and from there echoing out into the world.
Orit Perlman is a graduate of the HUC cantorial soloist program for Israelis.
She serves as a leader of life ceremonies, Shabbat and Holiday services at “Ohel Avraham” in Haifa. She collects, arranges, composes, performs and teaches from within our many Jewish musical traditions.

An amazing spiritual experience set to music!
author: Karen HumphreyThe music on this CD is simply amazing. From the soul-stirring beauty of Ma Tovu to the joyful exuberance of Sim Shalom, Orit captures the length and depth of the Jewish experience, all in one CD. If you're looking for a simply amazing collection of Hebrew music, get this CD!! You will not regret it! Some songs will have you lost in a spiritual place, other songs will have you drumming on your steering wheel. This CD really does have it all!! I can't wait until she puts out another one!
