notes

The new OPPERA CD is finally here!!!!! OPPERA did not wait very long to follow up their eclectic CD 'Violince', with this raucous, wild sophmore effort that will put this act on the map!
Screaming vocals and guitar work that rivals the best of the best, OPPERA has hit a home run with 12 memorable songs that you will have no way of eradicating from your memory.
'So', the first single from this CD, will be hitting the airwaves any day now, and OPPERA are out on tour with The legendary Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, throughout the summer. Please check Pollstar for the latest dates so that you will not miss this explosive act when they come to your town.
Not many artists come out of the box this polished and prepared for the spotlight, but then again, not many new acts come into the game with over 4 million units sold under their belt either....not to mention, production on many many hit songs and years of extensive touring on the national level.
Enough words.......buy it, see OPPERA live, and say you were into them before anybody else!!!

Not the same you played growing up, in your basement. But it and you still rock. Glad to see you have your love and focus. Carl K.

So wonderful to hear Michael's special music again....it's been too long. His voice, his talent, and magic that he makes. Golden & fresh, to be played, to be enjoyed.

  • Hit or Miss....

I found the same thing w/ this release and Oppera's previous release. There are some really good songs, and then there is a bunch of filler. The stand out tracks were "Rock Us Anna", "Release Me", "The Only One", "So". The rest were ok. I'm hoping their third release is a more consistent effort. Would love to see them work w/ some other producers.

  • maddeningly brilliant

thank god Martika gave up the cheesy pop crap she did in the 80's and finally is making music that she feels in her heart. a welcomed return. brilliant songs, amazing vocals f the naysayers

  • Better and Better
    author: Darlene

I loved Violence, But I LOOOOVE Oppera. Each track rocks better than the last. I have been lucky enoug to see them live in NYC last year and they have amazing presence and Martika's voice can fill you up and give you chills. I have also been fortunate enough to meet them and speak to them on 2 other occasions. Martika and Michael care about thier fans and are the most genuine people I have ever met. If u but this album U will not be Sorry. I have made fans out of my frends and family. I garantee you will too.

  • Good disc
    author: Nelson Sepúlveda

Hello Finally I recieven the "Oppera CD", I like just a few songs: "So", "I'm in love with someone else", "Since you've been away" and "No Escape". I really think martika's voice is so good to sing rock, I don't understand why she is not singing ballads, where she shines!. I love her voide and the music of the disc, but I must to be honest. In some songs I can't understand anything, for example in "This lonely life", is a very sad song, in her Martika's Kitchen album, she sang "Love...thy will be sone", "Spirit", very positive songs, but here...I think is a very dark album. I would love to listen to Martika singing songs like "The Happy Song", "Beautiful Fabulous" or "More than you know". I can't undestand some songs like "The only one", ""Ride the wave" or "this lonely life". I am a big fan of Martika. But I must to admit that I don't like all songs, they are very dark "This Lonely life, where is my knife"...What does it means???? You're talking about "Is better to kill myself?" I can't understand why Martika is singing this kind of songs!!!!...simply horrible some songs.

The cd was in perfect condition and the music was great. The only thing is that they rock the house live and maybe put more of that energy on the cd.

  • Oppera is finally truly here musically
    author: Cains

Overall, this album is a much better effort than the debut album “Violince”. This time, Martika and Michael are more focused and they finally found their “sound”. The chemistry is there. Check out gems like “I’m in love with someone else”, “Release me” “This lonely life”, “Another dollar”, “Rock us Anna” and for the first time, Michael shines with his limited vocal in “Another Dollar” which he delivers beautifully with emotion. BTW, the album ends with the fun “No escape”. Now, Oppera is finally truly here musically. WELCOME to my world, Oppera!! If there’s one thing to complain other than some filler songs, it’d have to be that disturbing artwork!(3.5/5)

  • AWESOME!
    author: Victor

I really love this cd! It is amazing! There are few bands able to create a CD with amazing songs from start to finish. Oppera is certainly capable. Excellent lyrics, sublime tunes, Michael (Another Dollar)'s voice is amazing. Martika!!!....you go girl!!! Her voice is outstanding and this album shows what she can do. , "SO" is a real powerful song, here's when the CD starts to get incredible."RELEASE ME" is a another killer song!!! Mozart does an amazing job in "ANOTHER DOLLAR", what a great song!!!! I really enjoy the songs "JUST RIDE THE WAVE", "THE ONLY ONE", " SINCE YOU'VE BEEN AWAY" just to name some of my favorites. I loved their debut album VIOLINCE, but this album just confirm to me what I have always believe, They are extremely talented, the songs are simply incredible This cd really flows, I can truly listen to this on shuffle and not fast forward one song. GOOD JOB GUYS! I'm sure You won't be disappointed if you buy it. I recommend it 100%
