notes
OOKLAH THE MOC has recently released this album, REARRANGE YOUR POSITIVE in limited distribution throughout the U.S. As an independent unsigned artist the road can sometimes be tough, but OOKLAH THE MOC puts the message of the power of Jah, and how to battle Babylon on a daily basis into their music. Roots Reggae inna dub style.
Debuting Ooklah's two new singers Kali Navales and Sista Micky Huihui, along with the everpopular vocals of Ras Bird LaPierre, a vocal trio has been created, the Hawaiian version of Black Uhuru. The driving rhythm section of Barrucus Davis on drums, Jah Gumby on Bass and the wacked-out crazy guitar of Asher "Killer P" Philippart keep perfect metered "live dub" on this, Ooklah's sophomore album.
Vocalists Sista Micky, Kali and Ras Bird switch up on the lead continually on this album. The entire 14-track crucialness is dub stylings with the rhythm section, horns (Gary Nakano Trumpet, Tony Bush Trombone), and of course the return of gwan mialoo on percs.
Check the reggae! Check the Roots! Guidance and respect to the massive inna Hawai`i and beyond. A-loha.

author: Jah WildernessRearrange your positive is by far a succesful attempt by Ooklah the Moc, to rearrange the island stylee of living. Catchy beats, great harmonies, and well thought out lyrics that will get stuck in your mind! By far a noteworhty album, and an adequate representation of reggae produced right here in the islands. Stay IRIE Ooklah, and Keep skankin' Hawaii Nei!

author: colin going LoneyIt allways rules when bands can keep up with themselves...a few days before the release party at Hard Rocks, there was an epic wednesday on the south shore. I'll never forget how stoked I was to be surfing the most beatiful waves in Jah universe and then dry off to Ooklah as they rearranged the positive for all kanes and wahines who just got pounded...haoles too!
Roots for your Boots
author: Mr Chang (of Kupa'aina also available on CD Baby)This album is the best roots album to come out Hawai'i! Ooklah the Moc is a must see, must listen, crowd moving bass throbbing reggae band. No Jawaiian here. Plus they have shirts but not in XXXL!

Awesome Hawaiian Roots Reggae!
author: DJ Bahilman @ Creation Steppin' RadioHawaii's Ooklah the Moc isn't your standard Jawaiian band- they're firmly "rooted" in the roots reggae style with some dub flavors. This sophomore effort was over a year late but was well worth the wait. The band has undergone some changes since the release of "Ites Massive," with two new singers on board- Kali Navales and Sista Micky Huihui. Combined with the vocals of Ras Bird LaPierra, all are equally capable of lead and backing vocals. The deep and languid riddims are laid down tight by Barrucus Davis (drums), Jah Gumby (bass) and Asher "Killer P" Philippart on guitar, and their standout horns section featuring Gary Nakano on trumpet and Tony Bush on trombone, punctuates things superbly. This is one of those albums with solid or better songs from beginning to end, and choosing a favorite is difficult, but Bahilman is particularly fond of "Concrete Vibes," "The Box," "In This Time," "You Light" and the instrumental "At Attack." Ooklah the Moc has a devoted following on the Hawaiian music scene, and when you sample this album you'll understand why. Not many bands are able to go from an impressive debut to an even better follow-up effort, but these guys have done it.
