notes

Prestons's finest and most popular rock outfit are called Ocean Bend. Their highly anticipated debut album is entitled " Everyday Life" and is a powerful mix of modern rock with a classic retro twist. These guys are honest, reliable, dependable writers of proper rock music that is powerful, melodic, catchy but dark in places with an underlying sense of the real world and how hard life can be sometimes. These guys are real. Their stunning debut album features the incredible, driving and infectious rock gem of a debut single " Chemical Life". The album and single are released on the 31 March 2008 through the famous U.K label Matchbox Recordings. Footage of the band and snippets of the album will be appearing on MTV2 during the NME chart show and Gonzo as part of the official album TV advert so watch out for that.

Ocean bend's rich buttery vocals and morish rhythymic textures leave you begging for more everytime. The band's influences are clear and numerous, weaving a delicate web of artistry, style and more importnantly substance. This is not a once played immediately forgotten album. You will be humming these sumptuous verses for years to come. With a little something for every mood these guys truly know how to satisfy this woman.

Ocean bend are a unique, rich and refreshing sound. whilst Listening to their album bands like Nirvana, Greenday (their first album which was more blues) and pearl Jam came into mind. rhythmic guitars and soft yet powerful vocals mixed with each song really well and as a result overall this album now proudly sits in my CD collection. questions answers - good song to start the album off with. really catchy and melodic, good meaningful lyrics. :) make it right - funky rock - one of the best tracks, clear talent clear guitar skills eddies back - funky tune bouncy rhythm very jazzy rock. catchy and good lyrics. smile - pearl jam sounding guitars - melodic and simple one of best tracks reminds me of nirvana too. monky do - funky jazzy bouncy lovley vocal harmonies with guitar - 10/10 all I need - reminds me alot of greendays first album, the jazzy punk stuff. also very pearl jam like on the album ten. false economy - melodic chilled out music yet moody in its own way. really good song. chemical life - lovley introduction - very themetune sounding. similar to the strokes, bouncy fun. good lyrics catchy guitar tune Mr scary - Pearl Jam like - 90's rock like - creepy in a good way, melodic - my kind of sound. :) pink clouds - deep song, probably the best on the whole album. again very early pearl Jam like.

so the words on everybody's lips at the moment being 'so who the hell are Oceanbend?' A virtually unknown band releasing their debut album! Probably the best kept secret in music history if Carlsberg were a band. Having been referred to as trumpton town characters this very unlikely outfit are causing more than just a ripple in the water..... Oceanbend a band that swears by 'its not about the style and fashion its all about the lyrics and licks;' presents a debut album that has more hooks than a fisherman, more heart than a Scotsman wearing a kilt, more punch than Amir Khan these guys really dare to bare a Gok Wan of rock crammed full with the most down to earth knowledge of life. Ocean Bends Everyday Life comes with a public health warning to all take off your rose coloured sunglasses and see the world for what it really is! Quite simply if you want to learn about everyday life then buy the album; its an education in itself.
