notes
NOVEJ (no-vay) Rapper, singer, producer, and artist Novej, a Tarboro, North Carolina native has totally given God his all and has begun to share his love for the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world. Unlike his previous projects, “Everyday Like Sunday” is an album that reflects the sincerity of his faith walk and defines the concept of being a “Soldier for God”. Before Novej began rapping the gospel, he could have been found in a dorm room at Winston Salem State University producing and recording tracks for local artist.
After receiving a BA degree in Fine Arts at WSSU, Novej decided to approach music more seriously and began to pursue a full time rap career. God had other plans! Novej was fortunate to land a major production deal but due to creative differences, the agreement was nullified. By November of 2006, Novej had sold his studio equipment, cut relationship ties, and began to seek God concerning his purpose in life. Novej’s parents, Min. Timothy & Min. Sylvia McGuire, began to counsel him about surrendering to the call that God had on his life. After re-dedication, baptism, and submission to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Novej began taking ministry to the streets! The album title, “Every Like Sunday” was inspired by a saying that describes heaven as being like Sunday everyday and Sabbath having no end. “Washed in the Blood” is one of many songs that will enlighten listeners about the sovereignty of the Savior, encourage all youth to persevere, and inform the world that in Christ miracles are inevitable. Kingdom! Prepare for what God has in store!
