North is a musical project currently centered in Ann Arbor, Michigan that has been producing original music since 1994.
Drowning In Sky is the project's first full-length recording, and in many ways is the first release to really express the full scale of North's vision. Built on a powerful rock foundation, the 11-track album features highly developed orchestration and production, as well as the trademark eclectic mix of writing that defines North's work to date. Over a dozen brilliant guest performers in genres from world to blues to folk to classical to metal add a wild palette of flavors to the record, resulting in a true album - a rich and inspiring experience for the real music-lover.
North mainly performs acoustic rock music featuring strong acoustic and electric rhythms, intelligent and diverse percussion, melodic flute lines and playful vocal harmonies; but has also touched upon a cappella, world, new age and classical styles, including film-scoring efforts. North aspires to create moving music across varying genres, but centers on evocative rock and progressive folk with an emphasis on thoughtful composition and introspective lyrics.

I love this album!
author: Anne KG MurphyThe other day I was at the airport waiting to get picked up, so I spun up this album on my iPhone and stood there rockin' to the music in my earbuds while I waited. A couple days later I realized "Be alone" was going through my head, and I was really happy about it, which is always a good sign about a song. I think "Centipedes" is probably my favorite song in this collection, with its message of commonality and the female guest vocalist's incredible voice. There's quite a variety in the album, from a classical driving rock sound with strong guitar to more melodic singer-songwriter style pieces. And all of it's good. Highly recommended.
