(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

Provides the listener with great music in a wide presentation field but yet remains quite contemporary. It covers the uptempo and groove need of the body & spirit.

notes

This is but a brief history chronicle of the musician/composer "Norman Evans". I fully understand the relative skepticism we operate on, and the need to be a "healthy skeptic" in this day and age. However, the music you hear on the CD and the live performance of the compositions will grab your heart and inspire your inner voice.

"Norman Evans" writes songs that draws people together, all people and all age groups. The constant commentary regarding "Norman" ranges from: 'Wow, he played all of that', to 'Why isn't he signed to a major label?' The latter statement I cannot begin to answer myself. It would take a modest edition of the Sunday 'New York Times' to list the other positive comments regarding "Norman" (both of him as a person and his music). (This is not another false hype offering, "Norman" is the genuine article).

Originally from Connecticut, "Norman" has been performing his brand of Contemporary Jazz as a solo artist since 1991. Reared in New Haven, Connecticut, the associated musicians read like a brief who's who in Contemporary Jazz. They are as follows: Joey Melotti; former musical director for Michael Bolton, Morris Pleasure; former musical director for "Earth, Wind and Fire", Rhon Lawrence former guitarist with Boney James, Marion Meadows and a host of other talented musicians who played the Connecticut circuit. (New Haven was at one time jumpin' with talent)

In January of 1996 "Norman" relocated to Maryland and continues to cultivate fans of his music and perform with the area's best. "Norman" has opened for a number of national artists: Spyro Gyra, George Howard, Pieces of a Dream, Gerald Alston, Miles Jaye just to name a few.

The musical prognosticators are acknowledging the growing market for Contemporary Jazz, now it is called 'Smooth Jazz' and "Norman's" music is all of the above and more.
Enjoy the music.
