notes
Nome Sane? was a band from 1990 - 1996.
It started out with the 1991 recording of the CD, "Nome Sane?" featuring a host of players (see credits) associated with the leader of the band, Teddy Kumpel.
It organically evolved into a tight knit 4 piece group which made one recording called, "Nome sane?, the lost sessions".
Nome Sane? did a bit of succesful touring during thier time together, but the band eventually evolved into a different beast as the members learned to sing and write lyrics.
Sadly they grew apart muscially, but this tour deforce funk fusion band will live on through their unique recordings.
Now "Nome Sane?'s" leader, Teddy Kumpel, is the leader of the rock band Teddybut, owner operator of Burning Beagle Studios in Brooklyn, NY and studio guitarist and producer par excellence.
Tony Scherr, bassist for "Nome Sane?" has a solo record out on "Smells Like Records" and has played with many famous artists including the Lounge Lizards and Nora Jones.
Andy Middleton is having a great creative career playing instrumental music with the likes of Ralph Towner and Dave Holland.
Brian Dunne is a world renouned drummer for many famous artists including Chuck Loeb.
All members stil reside in New York City.

Refreshing and creativly original
author: MarcusThere's some great playing and real originality about the songs on the CD...a clever blend of tongue-in-cheek humour & rock/jazz fusion with every song being different from the last. A real pity that this was a one-off collaboration.
If you have one mission this year it should be to get your hands on a copy of NO
author: Janis Tate of I.M.E ProductionsIf you have one mission this year it should be to get your hands on a copy of NOME SANE? by Teddybut. This cd has an "in your face" rock n roll feel mixed with a dash of jazz and a bit of humor. The production, musicianship and songwriting is more than adequate.... it's amazing!
