Album Notes

From Nashville, TN comes an exciting party rock band. Vocalist/Guitarist Handsome Mick Rowe, Bass Guitarist Tim Thompson, and Drummer Adam Silverman- collectively known as Nineteen88-have been able to accomplish alot in the very short time they have been together. Formed from the ashes of Mick's previous band Goliath (Music Cartel Records), Nineteen88 was created to play "good time rock that has something for everyone" as Handsome Mick puts it. "We all grew up listening and playing different styles of music, we consider Nineteen88 sonic territory to include ACDC, JET, and Big & Rich. but include a nod to the past heros of 80's rock music. We are not a cover band in the least, but we do not try to hide those Classic ifluences, if we did, the music wouldn't be as honest".

An actively touring band, Nineteen88 has been able to share stages (both acoustic and electric) with some of Nashville's rising stars. They have performed in almost every region in the U.S. picking up fans all along the way. Now with the national release "The Great American Rock And Roll Spectacle", the doors are wide open for the new band. Bass Guitarist Tim Thompson, a South Carolina transplant who moved to Nashville a decade ago says, "Touring and playing music is an amazing "job perk" to have. I love traveling so much! Meeting all sorts of people and getting to know them is something I don't take for granted." Adam Silverman. adds " I would echo Tim on that. I mean, we can drive all night with no sleep and be 100% wiped out, but the minute we hit that stage and I see a crowd of total strangers connecting with the music, it makes it all worthwhile! That rocks!."

When one hears Nineteen88 for the first time, they are reminded of a care-free time in their lives. It's almost impossible not to sing along. The band weaves musical portraits that relate to any hard working American man and every female that loves them!. Do yourself a favor, Check out the new CD "The Great American Rock And Roll Spectacle" and be sure to catch them when they perform in a town near you. REVIEWS

Excellent hard rock with a heavy twist, shaken and stirred.

Best CD of the year so far ... not that 24 days is that far, but hey, it'll take a lot to top it! You guys rock ... and rock hard! Great from the first track, well second actually, after the intro, to the last. Pure rock fury, undiluted, at its bludgeoning best! Can't wait for album 2.

Metal/Hard Rock

The last time we heard from "The Handsome Mick Rowe" was the doom-influenced metal of Goliath on its foreboding 2001 full length debut The Gate. Rowe is back, however, but in an entirely different capacity with his new band Nineteen88. Taking a nostalgic look back at the eighties but from a "metal perspective", Nineteen88 brings a combination of stomp and tromp AC/DC style hard rockers and commercial melodic metal numbers on its full length debut "The Great American Rock And Roll Spectacle". Showcasing song title such as "Pedal To The Metal, "Play Your Guitar" and "The Metal Hokey", you cannot help but think that Nineteen88, a band whose motto is AC/DC meets pro wrestling and Nascar in a smash pile up of hard rock thunder, does not take itself all THAT seriously. Nevertheless, a case can be made that Mick and company mean serious business reflected in a tight sounding performance from the band combining a profusion of catchy hook filled songwriting with an equal amount of eighties

I'm hard to please when it comes to new music. It's hard for a person like me to get over when the 80's ended. However, this band seems to have brought some of it back with it's "trip back in time" style of rock. Sort of like AC/DC meets the new millenium. It's an enjoyable CD, and it truly DOES rock!
