"I haven't heard a voice this fresh and that I like this much in years... love the songs too"
Gary Burke - internationally renowned musician (Bob Dylan, Joe Jackson, Graham Parker)

"Incredible voice.....HeadSoup is going to go very far" "From the minute I heard the first vocal I couldn't stop thinking how much it reminded me of a young soulful Van Morrison"
Jeff Wignall - WPKN - Bridgeport, CT

"I love Nik's voice and the smokin band.....they blew me away"
Todd Mack - WKZE - Red Hook, NY

•¬ "Worlds Fade Away" is the debut solo CD for Nik Rael of Headsoup. It was produced by long time Van Morrison guitarist, John Platania.

•¬ Nik is the leader of one of Philadelphia's seminal bands -- HeadSoup.

•¬ Born in LA, moved to New Jersey, and has recently been based in New York's Hudson Valley.

•¬ Nik is actually a third generation bass player. His father, Rich, was also a bassist and vocalist for a number of California based groups in the 60's including The Groove Company.

• Nik grew up listening to his parents records.

The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Van Morrison, The Stones and Joni Mitchell just to name a few.

• Nik is not sure exactly what the first record he purchased on his own was...but he is sure it was a band with a lead singing bass player. Nik is huge reggae fan and counts Bob Marley as one of his greatest influences

• He began writing songs on the piano when he was 13 but soon found that bass was his instrument.

•¬ Shortly after he joined Fish Head Soup he discovered Reggae and dove into it head first.

•¬ After college Nik became a substitute teacher for a short time. That experience curbed his teaching aspirations for a while.

•¬ He formed Headsoup with Eric Grear on guitar and drum machine. Nik played bass and sang and drummer Brian Flanagan was soon added.

•¬ The band built a very strong following in Philadelphia and South Jersey. When the band was reviewed it was often said that their sound was Jimi Hendrix meets The Beatles meets Bob Marley. Who knows???

•¬ The first self titled Headsoup CD was released...and became a staple on indie stations throughout the Philadelphia area.

•¬ If you happen to be in the Hudson Valley region don't pass up the opportunity to see HeadSoup live. The band is: Nik Rael - bass and vocals, Steve Petrone - drums/percussion and vocals and Bob Novikoff - guitar and vocals.

Hi, I heard your songs on a christian radio station and loved them. When I couldn't find them I called the station and found that the radio station advised the local stores to pick up the CD's but they reacted to slow. Any way through there suggestion we found it here on CD Baby and so so happy when I recieved, they are fast in delivery and recomend them to every one looking for great song availability and fast delivery; not to include great prices. Thanks and keep singing I am.

The tunes are obviously well thought out, and meticulously hewn in the tradition of a long list of Rock Greats. Obviously Nik does his best work when working with a partner. Nik,Erik? What are these guys, Viking's
