I've been watching Nick Granato since he received the Song Folk Journal's 2005 Horizon Award by our readership. The truth is you never know what direction an artist will take. I received my copy of Nick's latest CD "Outside the Lines", I must say that I was a little taken back because it was not what I expected. Nick's previous releases have had an islandy, Florida style, Buffettesque feel. This CD was far from it. A straight forward Folk/Rock offering, Nick clearly has evolved to another level. Even Nick's vocals have changed for the better. Evolving seems to be the thread that runs through the CD. Social, cultural, personal and political change is on Nick's mind. The musicianship is outstanding, graphics are eye catching, but the songs are astounding, each one of them. I've listened with the lyrics in front of me and I was truly moved. "Outside The Lines" could very well be the catalyst that brings Nick Granato to the musical forefront. I believe this is his best work to date, and one of my favorites in my personal collection. Watch this guy!

Something Important

Powerful and Honest
author: Amanda ManosI learned about Nick's music from a friend who seemed a bit too eager to share it with me. I thought he had gone a little overboard about his enthusiasm for this guy. Not to be rude, I borrowed the CD and it sat in my car for like a week. I decided to listen so I could at least say I did. I truly did not expect to like it, but I was wrong, I loved it! From beginning to end and back again. The music was great, the lyrics were powerful and honest, what a talent. I had to buy my friend another CD because I wouldn't give this one back. My Favorite songs are "In This Human Race", "Everybody Has A Heart" and "Purple Conspiracy" I'm now that over-enthusiastic Nick Granato fan, I think we call ourselves Flockers!
Music With Something to Say!

I have never met Nick, but I heard his music on a local radio show.I purchased myself a copy. I figured if I liked 3 of the 13 songs it would be worth it. I can tell you with all honesty I don't skip any song. I don't know if it's the passion in the delivery, the prolific songwriting, the recording, it just moves me. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes music that has something to say. My favorite songs - My Ordinary Life, No More Stones, Who I Am and Purple Conspiracy.
A Personal Reflection!

Disecting the lyrics, rocking to the music, I can say with authority that this CD will stand up to anything out there . The songwriting is prolific, Nick is a true craftsman of words. The music is just perfect to compliment and engage the listener. The messages are strong and definately uncompromising. The personal reflection turns out to be both the artist and the listener, I literally have found myself in a lot of these songs. I love this music

An Awakening
author: Melissa CatanosI don't know what I expected when I purchased this CD from Nick Granato on The Norwegian Dawn. I know I didn't expect it to become one of my favorites. Nick's songs seem to find their way into your innermost soul and make you think and act. I couldn't stop thinking about what he was saying, it was remarkable. I love what he says in songs like "No More Stones and What Is Love", I was touched by "My Ordinary Life and Purple Conspiracy" I saw my prejudices in "Color Outside The Lines" and I've lived the beautiful song "Who I Am" I am so glad I enjoyed his performance enough to purchase his CD.
Something extremely special

Each song contains a piece of his heart. I heard the plea for change, tolerance and respect. I identified with every song, I even was nearly brought to tears by the song "Who I Am" which so reflected my life I could have written it. Outside of the Ordinary!
author: Mark Scoggins,- Pensacola FLI own this CD, and Outside The Lines is Outside the Ordinary! I know it might sound a bit corny, but it's true. I've been a Nick Granato fan for a long time, I own his other CD's, and this is by far his best work to date. It's hard to decide if it's rock or folk or country, it really doesn't matter, it's great. Nick has had a metamorphisis of sorts, you can actually hear the colors! Nick's lyrics are so strong and the musicianship lacks for nothing. My favorite songs are Color Outside The Lines, My Ordinary Life, Waiting On The Sun and Who I Am.

A Lot Of Life Behind Each Song

Nick said he wanted to “leave us thinking” – well that’s what he did. I haven’t stopped thinking about it, or singing songs from it. What a great CD! Not run of the mill fluffy ear candy, but real songs, with genuine heart and soul, songs that really mean something. I can’t tell you how amazed I was, and still am! The messages are so strong and poignant. Nick’s vocals were very convincing, again they come from deep in his heart, and it’s obvious. You can sense there is a lot of life behind each song! I say download it, buy the CD, listen close and learn! My favorite songs are Color Outside The Lines, No More Stones, Waiting On The Sun and Who I Am!
This music is so important
author: J Paul GraceYesterday I recieved my CD copy of "Outside The Lines" by Nick Granato. I can tell you that living in NYC, music is everywhere. Bands and singers literally line the streets. Very few interest me, but those few are special. Usually there is something different that makes them stand out, Nick Granato is one of those. I put this CD on last night while some friends were over and let it play.... like 8 times. Every song is special. My friends went online and got their own copies. After they left I listened again real close. I was moved by the messages. "My Ordinary Life", "What Is Love", "No More Stones", and I found myself, my life in the song "Who I Am". I haven't had a song do that to me in years! I hope this music gets out so everyone can hear it. I know I will do what I can to assist.
