Bio:
Nickel is a band from Los Angeles, California that started off as a 3-piece group featuring Tom McDermott (guitar/vocals), Robert Schmidt (bass/vocals) and Fabrizio Munoz (drums). Mike McLaughlin would later take over on drums for the next stage of the band's life. During this period, the band's full-length album, "Stupid Thing" was recorded. Tom Hite layed down some keyboard tracks then joined the band shortly thereafter.
Thanks to the efforts and funding of screenwriter and director, Grant Wheeler (along with the help of many others), a video of the song, "Stupid Thing" was produced. This helped to promote the band's music - some fruits of which included being featured on an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", MTV and radio play.

Love the album!!! I'm glad i finaly found it!!!
Awesome!
author: ArielThis album is definitely worth buying. The music and lyrics are great and original. I first heard stupid thing and 1000 nights on Buffy and have loved them ever since.
Enjoyed!
author: Stephanie LandBeen rewatching S2 of Buffy and really found myself humming along to Nickel's songs. So then I had to track the CD down and buy it. Happy with it thus far, though admittedly haven't had some serious quality time with it yet. Technical wise: I'm not 100% happy with the sound quality, though, hence the 4 stars. Sounds more old-tape like rather than new!CD like.
Well worth the money
author: ChrissyTNGI'd been searching for this cd for ages. I was so glad that I finally found it! I first heard some of these songs while watching an episode of the show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". I loved all of the songs on here, it was well worth the money. All in all it was awesome!
well worth the money!
author: Gemma cushinggreat music, well worth the wait and money
Pretty sweet
author: BenI first heard some tracks on "Buffy" (as did a few others I imagine)and though "Hmmm, I gotta hear me some more of that", and after buying this album I'm glad I did, it's awesome. I particularly like the sparse arrangements of bass and synth with guitar taking a less prominent role. Try it out, you'll love it :)
Great CD - Should be Better Known!
author: ShushilaLike (apparently) everyone else, I wanted this CD for a long time after hearing the song "Stupid Thing" on "Buffy". It sounded like such a great (and fitting for the episode!) song. I was delighted to find out that "Stupid Thing", is only one of many excellent songs by Nickel. This CD deserves a lot wider attention; the public is definitely missing out on a great group.
great cd
author: Lisai thought this cd was great. stupid thing is still my fav song but the rest is quality too
No stupid thing!
author: SaskiaI really love the CD (it's playing up and down since I got it). Like so many other people I bought it because of this one Buffy episode and I am so glad about it. There's not one song on the album I don't like.
good!
author: RiaI really enjoyed Stupid Thing, the first song, and it was my favorite, not to say the other songs weren't good. All songs were well done and I'm definitely glad I bought this CD!
saw them on buffy while watching the dvds
author: MeredithNickel is a sweet band that has good lyrics with cool melodies the kind that make you wanna bob your head up and down. they just rock.
Grows on you.
author: LeoraLike the two other reviewers, it was the Buffy episode that made me want to hear the rest of the song "Stupid Thing" and find out what else the band has produced. I'm glad I bought the CD; the more I've listened to it, the better I like it. They have catchy melodies and an appreciable sense of irony.
I also saw the band on buffy and couldn't find the album anywhere. The website w

Album Rules
author: Roger OneOk, so my friends and I wanted the song stupid thing (took me forever to find it) that was on an episode of buffy the vampire slayer. I decided to buy the whole album (that was a while ago). After a couple listens it really hit me, this album rules! I see it's cheaper now then when I bought it... oh well, was still worth it.
