Harold Shonberg, America's most distinguished music critic wrote of Ms. Marino's first Schumann CD: "It took a few measures to recognize that this kind of technical and musical confidence was something special" He then went on to choose it as one of the best piano releases of 1996 in the American Record Guide.

This two CD set (including the one that Mr. Shonberg raved about) is a bargain for piano and classical music fans.

    In every kind of music, mostly Romanticism, there's something in the score that it's not written. ¿You want to hear that something? Buy this Cd,close your eyes and hear Nibya Mariño. You'll surely hear things you've never heard in other versions. And, undoubtedly, that's Schumann.

    This is a wonderful Schumann set. If it does not quite reach the exalted company of my favorite Schumann pianists - Arrau, Annie Fischer, Kempff - it comes quite close. I agree that her style reflects an older tradition of piano playing, one that I'm always happy to return to. This is a CD that I have played often in the 3 weeks since I purchased it...
