Friends Kevin Barlow, Kevin Guzman, Garrett Moore and Ryan Munger joined forces in 2004 to form neonthief (that's right, all lowercase) to make music described as "experimental folk." Currently recording their first full-length on Brad Lee's excellent local label Loud and Clear Records (Manuok, Goodbye Blue Monday, Comfortable For You) these teenagers from Vista are already creating waves.
Sweet acoustic indie pop pervades the band's first release, "Stranded Strangers." Released in 2006, the six-song EP slides by like a sunny afternoon complete with dreamy vocals from Barlow and strummy tunes held down by Moore's agile drum riffs. It's hard to tell these guys are just getting started.
