notes
Definition of NeidFyre: Old English word for a fire ceremonially generated by intense friction between two pieces of wood.
Seeing how I love to play jigs and reels, and the imagery NeidFyre creates, I couldn't think of a better name to call myself when performing.
NeidFyre is comprised of me, Mel Ginsberg-Stevens. A Long Island transplant in Upstate New York, I've been enamoured of Celtic and traditional music for longer than I can remember. I began playing the violin some 24 years ago and singing about the same time. During the past four years I sang with different people in different incarnations of groups, but in 2002 I decided to take things into my own hands and began performing solo. The end result of these endeavors is Duck Feet Waddling.
