notes
Jazplash is an unusual trio of trumpet, bass, and drums that brings to its initial CD release a unique presentation of original compositions in a free flavored jazz style. The CD also features a unique presentation of original poetry with several of the compositions.
Jazplash is led by trumpeter Ed Neiderhiser, an ordained Lutheran minister and prison chaplain, who is an experineced performer, composer, and arranger in classical, rhythm and blues, and jazz venues. He is the composer of all the selections on the CD which also includes several pieces of original poetry read on the recording by the author, Sally Ada-Marie.
Featured on the CD also are bassist Ed Crockett and drumer Bob Fant.
The works while presented in a free style, reflect roots in the traditional jazz flavors of blues, ballad, swing, latin, and gospel.
The performers are all well known in the Philadelphia area jazz scene and bring many years of professional experience and expertise to their presentation.
