notes
Naser was born in Kpatuo, Nimba County, Liberia. She is a songwriter and singer who presently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
As a young girl, Naser played hand drums for her mother, who sang to entertain the family. She played anything (from empty tin cans, plastic buckets to hollow woods or sticks) she could get her hands on.
Naser performs a style of music called Kolor, a rhythm filled sounds with upbeat mood, typical of the Dan and Man tribes of northeastern Liberia. Her specialty within the Kolor style is the sub genre called Sokay which generally addresses family cohesiveness.
Naser released her debut CD called "Sokay," in the United States in 1998. In 2000, she completed a joint project "Rally Time" with her husband, Jake D.

had to buy it
author: cassI was browsing through and heard this and had to buy it. This music leaves you feeling both relaxed and enrgized at the same time. I love it.
Great vocal presentation!
author: Dave ShermanSokay, like Joromie and Sweet Mother, is a classic. Ten years from now, Sokay will sound just as sweet as it does today. Naser's voice presentation and the music are great. Liberia truely has some talented musicians. Great job, Naser!
