notes

The strong reggae roots of Mystic Vibrations began in Little London, Westmoreland, Jamaica and brought to the US in 1992 by Ric Williams. Credited to their name are two self released studio albums ('People Get Ready' and 'Busy Street') and one live recording ('Mystic Vibrations Live In Finlay Park'). A fourth album is due to be released soon. A busy schedule keeps the band constantly on the road touring the eastern US from New York to Florida. The band is a four-piece rhythm section of exceptionally talented musicians; Matthew Flemming(drums), George Johnson(bass), Janae Davis (keyboards and backing vocals) and Ric Williams (guitar and lead vocals). Their consistency has established a large fan base that has steadily grown over the years. Their music speaks of love, unity, peace amongst all mankind, and the trials and tribulations of oppressed people.

Mystic Vibrations' first recording, People Get Ready (1993) features songs such as, "Mi Woman", whose upbeat tempo is topped with the praises of Ital (natural) living and womanly support. The title track of the album, "People Get Ready" with its easy, flowing tempo yet powerful lyrics, calls for physical, spiritual and mental repatriation. Their second album, Busy Street (1999) contains hard hitting tracks such as "Busy Street" and "Babylon System" which aim to raise awareness toward the realities created by capitalist mentality. "Still On My Mind" is a love ballad that cries out vocally and musically, revealing an inner strength that reaches beyond the physical plane. Busy Street was later remixed (2003), with a dub version of the title track "Busy street" added. A third album, Live In Finlay Park (2002), was released and features old and new tracks from both their prior and upcoming albums. The Band is now working on a fourth album to be released soon.

Mystic Vibrations has appeared at many venues over the past twelve years. These include parks, festivals, night clubs, weddings, a plethora of private parties, TV appearances and radio interviews.

They have also performed with numerous reggae acts from Jamaica including Burning Spear, Yellowman, Third World, Sizzla, Inner Circle, The Wailers, Israel Vibrations...just to name a few.

In 2003 Mystik Muzik was created, a recording label solely responsible for bringing the music of Mystic Vibrations to the world.

In all things Mystic Vibrations gives Thanks and Praises to the Most High.
