notes
Mystery Feet was founded in late 2000, and we released our debut recording on U Dig Records in October of 2001. Just 5 short years later and we're ready to release our follow-up, "Upstream" (on or about Oct 12, 2006). This time around we have the pleasure and priviledge of being joined by some very exciting guests. The drumming on the lion's share of the tracks is provided by Joel Rosenblatt, most recently of Spyro Gyra and currently performing with Lee Ritenour and Bill Evans. On the tune entitled "Jumpstart" we have the legendary DJ Logic on tables, the even more legendary Lenny White (Miles Davis, Return To Forever) on drums, sax man Carl Knox and rap artist Matt "Ziggs" Zeigler. The song was written specifically for the occasion of the recording session by guitarist Frank Varela (who composes most of Mystery Feet's material), and everyone came to the session having no idea what to expect other than we were going to make some really good music together. And that we did. Although making this record was a lengthy and challenging process, we feel our fans will agree it's been well worth the wait!
