notes
Houston-based, edgy, progressive, Celtic music & song...
...Murder the Stout formed at the end of 2004 after lead singer Gerard Bride wanted to get back to serious performing. He and Neil DuFour on guitar had already developed a decent setlist when Hugh Morrison, with his squeeze box, joined ranks.
After the original drummer and bass player relocated, the search was on for the perfect rhythm section. Along came Berkley Sisson & Jonathan Chamrad, whose years of performing together across the state in country bands found them the perfect fit. Hugh had played with Jonathan in a previous band, as had Berkley and Gerard in Houston’s first celtic band “On the Dole”, a band that Gerard formed back in 1998.
All FIVE hit it off straight away and have been grabbing bookings at pubs, clubs and festivals ever since.
A perfect combination, with Hugh and Gerard’s genuine Scottish and Irish traditions, along with an all Texan rhythm section sets this group apart.
Their first tour is planned for April 2006 as Murder the Stout take their show from Texas to Louisiana and Mississippi to promote their new release.
The future is certainly bright for these Murderers of Stout.
Drink up, sing up & we’ll see you soon!!
Some early feedback about the CD.......
"Murder the Stout's self titled first album will have you licking your lips for more with almost an hour of these guys with their debut release. The songs kick ass and the instrumentals kick ass, need I say any more"
Here's what a loyal fan (Mr Tyler Murphy) had to say.......
"your music is even good when hungover. Most irish music hurts like hell during a hangover. Whistles and pipes are just not good recovery music but this CD is great"

Incredible CD
author: Beware The PookaIncredible, edgy Celtic music. The finest rendition of "Whiskey In The Jar" I've heard. Best served with a frothy pint o' Guiness.

author: BiLL BrowneGreat CD..Better than expected! One of the best "Irish" style drinking CDs out there. Impressive lyrics, music, and beat. You just have a good time while listening. They seem to be enjoying themselves. If their follow up CDs are anything near to this, I'll be buying more. Keep doin' what yer doin'...
