MS. MONIQUE REEKS SOUL, SASS & SEX APPEAL AND HER MUSIC IS HOT LIKE FIRE AND EQUALLY AS TANTILIZING!!
MS. MONIQUE IS BEING DESCRIBED BY MANY AS BEING NEW AGE NOSTALGIA FOR CLASSIC OR VINTAGE SOUL MUSIC. SHE WAS BORN IN AN ERA WHEN SOUL MUSIC WAS STILL VERY POPULAR SO YOU CAN SEE WHY THIS VIXEN SEEMS TO BE BEYOND HER YEARS MUSICALLY. SHE EMERGES FROM A SMALL TOWN NORTH OF MIAMI, FLORIDA CALLED BOYNTON BEACH. THIS IS WHERE SHE BEGAN AT AGE 8 TO WOE EVERY ONE WITH HER AMAZING VOCAL SKILLS EVEN AT THAT AGE. SHE ENDEAVORED TO SING ALL TYPES OF MUSIC FROM GOSPEL, BLUES, FUNK ALL THE WAY TO ROCK AND COUNTRY. HONING HER SKILLS LEAD THE PATHWAY TO HER FIRST RECORDING DEAL IN 2002. TODAY, MS.MONIQUE IS ONE OF THE MOST SAUGHT AFTER FEMALE VOCAL PERFORMERS ACROSS THE WORLD. SHE PERFORMS FOR GOVERNORS, SENATORS, PRESIDENTS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MUSIC LOVERS. SHE HAS TOURED THE WORLD AND OPENED FOR ACTS LIKE BB KING, JEFFERY OSBORNE, NESTOR TORRES AND A HOST OF OTHERS. HER RADIATING PRESENCE, STAGE ANTICS AND VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN CONCERT HAVE OFTEN GOTTEN HER COMPARED TO THE TRUE DIVAS GLADYS KNIGHT, BETTY WRIGHT AND THE SASSIEST SISTA IN R&B/SOUL MUSIC MILLIE JACKSON. HOWEVER THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT MS. MONIQUE HAS A UNIQUE STYLE OF HER OWN. THE WORLD HAS BEEN AWAITING THE NEXT MEGA STAR AND SHE GOES BY THE NAME OF "MS. MONIQUE". SHE BRAVLEY AND BOASTFULLY STANDS UP TO THE MAINSTREAM EXPECTATIONS AND OFFERS TO THE WORLD AN AUTHENTIC, NON-DILUTED VERSION OF SOUL MUSIC THAT DESCRIBES LOVE, PASSION AND PAIN.

The soul comes alive in sensual songs
author: SaveOurSoulMs. Monique is her name and her debut CD is entitled "Soul Sessions Chapter I". Besides the "Intro", the "Interlude" and the "Prayer" this album contains twelve songs. Almost all the songs have been written by Ms. Monique and Frank McKinney. The red line on "Soul Sessions Chapter I" is "Love Therapy". In this therepy Ms Monique gives advice to women on how to threat their men and vice versa. We learn that relationships have up and downs and that sometimes a girl ends up being a "Single Mama". What we also learn is that the sex between a man and a woman has to be good. The album is adult contompary soul music with a flavour of RnB in songs like "Single Mama" and "I'm Looking For A Good Man". The soul comes alive in sensual songs like "Lollipop", "Slow & Easy" and "You Did It To You". In all of her songs she seems to wear her heart on her sleeves. Ms. Monique has a sweet and sensual souful voice and is very convincing in the way she sings. You might immediately follow her advice. Ms.Monique follows the tradition of singers like Barbara Mason, Dorothy Moore, Betty Wright and Millie Jackson. She tells it like it is. All these women are capable to give you that soul feeling that is so typical of the warm soul sista.(TA)
A Diva is Born
author: Jack and Sharon BernsteinWow! what a talent, she performed for our annual gala. And all everyone could say was WOW!. Purchasing the CD has made even more of an impact. Every song on this disc is well put together and offers more than we even bargained for. Not only is she a beautiful woman, but she's a phenominal song writer as well. Keep up the GOOD Work...
- author: Al Lindsey
To the beautiful woman with such a beautiful voice. You offered stiff competition in the blues critic best new artist of the year category for 2005. Your vocal stylings are refreshing. Your phrasing is on point. I was truly honored to be in the same category. Recording Artist Al Lindsey
Those of you who still want real soul must investigate this. Track it down at
author: Blues & Soul MagazineSome may find her name a tad dubious (massage parlour, Vicar?) but there’s no doubting the wonderful soulful quality of the lady’s music. Indeed, I’d go as far as to say that the album’s one of the best real soul sets of an already good year. Why? Well for starters Monique has a beautiful voice. Sweet and smooth, yet with an edge and a bit of bite as required, it betrays her southern roots. Betty Wright... Gladys Knight... Denise LaSalle... Millie Jackson... hear ‘em all in there. Song-wise in places you’ll be reminded of Millie J too. Monique, you see, isn’t afraid to fully confront the issues, particularly relationship ones. Indeed like the aforementioned Ms. Jackson she’s keen on giving advice and in places she poses as a radio phone-in host proffering all kinds of tips. Those tips are summed up in the cut “Love Therapy”, a steamy slab of southern soul which runs through the album. “Lollipop” continues the love advice and you shouldn’t need me to tell you the lollies here don’t come in Woolworth’s pick ‘n’ mix! “Mr. Do Right” is another steamy groove, while “You Did It To You” has hints of “Woman To Woman” - though here it’s very much her to him! “Single Mama” shows the poignancy in Monique’s voice, with the title the clue to the subject matter. “I’m Lookin’ For A Good Man” is another typically southern ballad, while “Ooh Baby” is sparser, even funky. The album also boasts two fine dancers: “Get Up” and “Do You Wanna Step With Me”. The former is full of brass and strings while the latter is the best steppers cut you’ll hear all year. Those cuts give the set a real diversity but the album retains a unity with the lady’s wonderful voice. Those of you who still want real soul must investigate this. Pristine and clean sound. This is one talented woman!
author: Dylann Deanna2 I try not to let a performer's looks influence my judgment when I review a CD by a female..but Ms. Monique is fine. So, okay, she's got the look but has she the voice? Cuz it don't mean a thang if she can't sang. Survey says: Oh yeah! Potent, elastic, sexy and full of flavor. In fact you'd be surprised to know she's not a seasoned veteran the way she confidently weaves in and around the silky, flowing rhythms. "Soul Sessions" offers a healthy mix of bedroom slowies and midtempo headbobbers. Monique was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Ears perked up when she recently sang background for Sir Charles Jones, who she name checks on the midtempo creeper "Mr. Do Right" which opens this consistent contemporary soul platter. I promise you'll really be moved by the satiny "Lollipop" when Monique offers to be "your lollipop/You can lick me everywhere you want to"! Be still my beating heart. The first single is "Love Therapy", a slow rolling jam with Monique giving a Millie Jackson-inspired lesson on how to love your man. It's a hit. There's also a part 2. Though she's already mastering the slow tip (check the tender "Single Mama" & "Slow & Easy") she can also handle dancers. "Do You Wanna Step With Me" is a terrific stepper with an infectious circular refrain and both "Get Up" & "Ooh Baby" are tense jeep jams. Monique gets an A + in vocal gymnastics on this disc but she deftly holds the reigns so as not to impede the melody. She also wrote all the tracks here and even co-produced with Frank McKinney. Pristine and clean sound. This is one talented woman! Mckinney is also responsible for most of the instrumentation with additional keyboards by Al Harris. But Ms. Monique's voice seals the deal. You're going to want to get to know Ms. Monique. Don't worry, she''ll be a part of your life soon. Contact Soul Entertainment at (404) 210-6584 or visit msmonique.net. (CD-R)
