Mitch Rutman Group is a 5-piece Contemporary Jazz-Fusion Band. Based in Knoxville, TN The Mitch Rutman Group plays a high-energy set of all instrumental, all original music incorporating Jazz, Funk, Blues, Reggae, Hip-Hop and Latin grooves. Mitch Rutman, a frequent guest guitarist with The Dave Matthews Band -(check out DMB’s 'Live In Chicago’ CD)- has also played with members of Maroon 5, John Mayer’s band and DJ Logic. The Mitch Rutman Group has opened for Umphreys McGee Band, premier jazz guitarist John Scofield, headlined at the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival, played at The 2006 Bonnaroo Festival and continues to perform in the southeast's many venues and festival events. This Debut offering started out merely as a live demo until Jeff Coffin (from Bela Fleck and The Flecktones) heard the material and offered to take it a step further by producing, arranging and playing on it. The result, an exciting EP of some really great material!
