june 15th 2006 Northeast In-Tune magazine
With music ranging the entire musical gamut, from Country and western to Alternative, Mr. E (songwriter) and the totally obscure band have achieved what very few bands have ever attempted. With seven albums in their repertoire their success is obvious. They have preformed in numerous venues and achieved many accommodations including three ASCAP Plus Awards for the 2004/2005 period for domestic writers. Their unique Dylan-esque vocals and beautiful music make for a unique blend of composition.
In “Christmas Time” the joy of one day’s effect on people and the world as a whole is rejoiced in tender loving lyrics. “Ever been lonely” is a bluesy heartbreak song with fabulous harmonica and guitar riffs. “It’s all about me” has a country flavor with a little blues background to flavor the narcissistic lyrics. “Mourn for the City” is reminiscent of some of U2’s sad introspection about the human condition. The variety of genres that Mr. E (Songwriter) and the totally obscure band touch on makes their music unique and definitive.
Though little is know about the individual members of Mr. E (Gregg Christiansen; guitars, keyboards, vocals, Michael Ryan; rhythm guitar, harmonica and vocals, Richard Ord; bass guitar, percussion and vocals, Rolfe Newton; drums and percussion) their musical value is obvious. Aside from the ASCAP Plus awards they have also achieved a tribute on www.EBANDS.com for their moving song “Winds of War” (a tribute to the soldiers over seas), and varied invitations to perform at multinational concerts. A stunning set of musical ambassadors destined for great things.

cool song
author: christmas songOkay Xmas Song Jingle bells? Okay it is a Christmas song. Good guitar riffs on the intro. Continues into the vocal. So I liked the intro. Admirable sentiments in the lyrics. I liked the part about Christmas was the culmination of love growing all year long. The rest just seemed to be a collection of regular Xmas images. But then again, most Christmas songs have never been noted for great lyrics. So yeah, rerecorded by the right artist and this song might have a chance to make the Xmas playlist. - tombuck Austin, Texas
good song
author: christmas songA Mixer An interesting mix of instruments. Very unique and it stands out. Lyrics: I like that you dont try to over-simplify the rhyming scheme Vocals: Very Euro kind of voice which bring attention to it. Background vocals: the new standard in songs is that there are less ohhs and ahhhs and more sung lines so this may date your song just a little. This is not a traditional christmas song but yet is within the lines...very nice - KMcConaway Hartford, Wisconsin
christmas classic
author: christmas songchristmas time great christmas song. this could be on the radio . very good lyrics and melody. nice touch to the words. everyone loves chrsitmas so thats a great topic to write about . this song is great. keep up the good work. good recording value nice touch to the fade out ending . - Musicman2004 Hazard, Kentucky
merry christmas
author: christmas songMerry Christmas I really enjoyed this tune. A Christmas song with a folk sound. didn't find anything i would personally change or disagree with. The arrangement is suiting and the performance is good. Good luck and merry Christmas to You! - cookhouse Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
nice christmas song
author: christmas songNice simple intro. Vocal quality really matches the composition well - reminiscent of Dylan/Lennon in compositional structure (verse/chorus) Definitely nothing to sneeze at. Nice holiday ditty. Merry Christmas, and thanks. Extra Credit: Melody, Mood. - cshawn Whittier, California December 12th, 2004
christmas classic
author: christmas songchristmas classic This one's got that christmas feel alright. The melody is nice but I think the lyrics need to be worked on a bit...there good but try to steer clear of cliche. I could see people singing this one around the fire place. - doch8 Mamaroneck, New York December 11th, 2004
good song
author: christmas songNot Bad The accoustic intro was kind of nice. An interesting lead vocalist, kind of Bob Dylanish. The verse melody is good but there really isn't much of a chorus. The seasonal lyrics are kind of obvious. Not a bad job though - TomTighe Windsor, Ontario, Canada December 10th, 2004
awesome music
author: christmas songreview I liked the intro it was sweet and mellow. Verse is neat, good Christmas tune. Chorus not as good as verse. I like a Christmas song, very cool. Good singer, Dylanish. production is muted. Lead is very polished and nice. Extra Credit: Guitars, Originality. - bossman357 Hendersonville, Tennessee December 9th, 2004
nice little ditty
author: christmas songNice delay on the vocals It makes me think it's being sung on a mountaintop :-) This is an infectious tune and I think it's being sung in earnest. I really like the little pull-off run the guitar does in the intro, and the delay on the solo. I like the singing voice. Steve Forbert meets Dylan. Some of the lyrics are simple, but warm. Pleasant little ditty! - JackMullins La Honda, California December 10th, 2004
groovin
author: humilitygroovin This song has some great guitar work going on. The vocals are pretty good but also pretty basic. Not much above talking. The drum work is pretty consistant. It seems like the guitar is carrying all the weight. Extra Credit: Guitars, Mood. - sabkattydeubie Blue Springs, Missouri October 20th, 2004
cool tune
author: humilitygood flow unique sound, it moves along nicely, but the lead sounds a little awkward over the rhythm at times. I like the drum machine style beat. lyrics are cool and catchy, I think I would like them more if you speed up the vocal tempo though. lead guitarists sounds like he can jam, sometimes he should back off though to emphasize this a little more. Extra Credit: Guitars, Lyrics. - minerswork Tallahassee, Florida October 19th, 2004
awesome music
author: henry lowryRock from the spice rack. Kinda like Tom Waits. I give the band points on originality of style. The intro was unusual in a way that makes you listen a little closer to the song. I like the harmonica. As far as production goes, it sounds like the vocals are a little 'crowded' like it's several tracks of vocals when 1 good take may have been more effective. I'm just really picky so I'm not dissin' the band. Extra Credit: Originality. - MmmmGood Hollywood, California September 19th, 2003
great tunes
author: henry lowryLoved It! Very original! I really like you guys! I hope to hear more of you in the future. The intro is creepy in a good way. The bridge is very nice. The outro fits perfect. Good Work! Extra Credit: Male Vocals, Production, Lyrics, Melody. - superrye1 Southeast, Michigan September 19th, 2003

author: henry lowrycrazy cool all around so this intro, is one of the coolest things ive heard in a whole, nice harmonica, it adds a good lot to it. hah this is a really wierd song, but its cool for some reason. neat bridge. wow, a wierd change up for the outro, i really like this song, wierd and cool. good job. best music on web
author: henry lowryStrong Song from Strong Band Being my first review i will decide to try and make it a good one. The intro is rather crunchy, and it wasnt reeled in by it at first, but towards the bridge section i was surprised at the maturity of the band, and began to wnjoy the song. however the song got slightly weak towards the outro. i was happy to listen to it and the drums kept me tapping the whole way through Extra Credit: Drums, Production, Most Rocking Track. - drum__bum August 16th, 2003
awesome music
author: henry lowryReview Theatrical Very theatrical intro. Shocked me with the harmonica, nice original touch. You don't see that coming. I like the music. Not too keen on the vocal melody. Lyrics are fitting though. Definitely an original sound here. A few influences, but they don't overwhelm. Reviewed by: lustforeden from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
