notes
Michael Patrick is a singer/songwriter, solo performer based in Central, (Monmouth County) N.J. He plays guitar and sings tunes from the Country to folk and roots rock genres. Whether it be solo or with his group of esteemed musicians and bandmates "The Suburban Hillbillies", Michael delivers consistently great performances of Americana at its' best!
If your are moved by Brewer & Shipley's "One toke over the line", Pure Prairie League's "Amy", Phish's "Poor Heart" or Led Zeppelin's Countrified "Hot Dog", Then Michael's style will fit you like a glove.
Inspired by the folk, country, bluegrass, gospel, roots and rock sounds of such artists as : Jimmy Buffett, John Prine, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Willie Nelson, Cat Stevens, Lyle Lovett, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Doc Watson, The Eagles and the like, Michael Patrick has developed an appreciation of simplistic story-telling lyrics, catchy hooks and memorable melodies.
With a voice that has been described by some as a unique cross-breed of John Prine, Jimmy Buffett, Johnny Cash, Doc Watson & Garth Brooks, a "Michael Patrick tune" is certainly distinguishable, carries his signature "twang" yet maintains it's own unique identity.
His unique guitar playing style incorporates elements of Flatpicking, Folk Strummings and driving percussive rhythms.
Michael looks forward to introducing and delivering his brand of "Country Fried, Folk Flavored Roots Rock & Roll" to both new and old fans alike.
