notes

"Imagine yourself standing at the edge of forever, as you look out over the galactic shores of infinity. The spiral arms of the Andromeda galaxy rising over the distant horizon as the spinning binary bodies of an ancient star system burn in the crimson sky of perpetual twilight. In a floating dreamstate, you can see your soaring across worlds as familiar as they are strange... or find yourself coasting down the river of an alien realm illuminated by the lights of their technological cities, all the while surrounded by the ambience of an interstellar landscape."

AMBIENT EARTH paints the surreal landscapes of the cosmic mind and the infinite imagination using electronic instrumentation (analog & digital, and weaving them together in a haunting, beautiful combination of ambient space rock, and contemporary new age music. Tribal rhythms merge with lush, dreamy chord washes, mysterious and majestic melodies combine with abstract, contemplative textures. It is at once strangely ominous and eerily evocative. From the tribal rhythms of 'Where the River Runs Black' and 'Tenochitlan', through the progressive space-rock of ' Innerverse' and 'Burning Sea', the hauntingly dramatic 'Atlantis Rises from the Waves' and 'Descent into the Inferno', to the soaring atmospheres of 'Spinning Binary System' and 'Realms of Autumn Twilight', the listener will journey to a realm of unearthly ambience.

This is the first CD release from Mr. Mosher following his MONUMENTS OF CHAOS demo (available on cassette) in 1995, and HORSEMEAT - MEET THE MEAT project (also available on cassette) in 1995. AMBIENT EARTH continues into the world of electronic soundscapes, rich in synth melodies and tribal percussion, interspersed with guitar and exotic instrumentation throughout its expansive 75-minute running time.

Scott calls his music 'the soundtrack to the mind, spirit and the limitless imagination through different worlds. Some real and near, others imaginary and distant. All are filled with dreamy landscape images that induce contemplation and spark the flame of the wandering mind. These songs, when I composed them, reflect the thoughts, emotions, and dreams I experienced in my life at the time. And still do. I want to take the listener to these lands, as far away as your imagination lets you travel. These visions are inspiration for the dawning of a better world.'

  • Amazing mix of new age music, tribal rhythms and majestic songs
    author: George

I totally love this CD. Where the River Runs Black - This is one of my favorite tracks on this CD. I‘ve played it a lot in the short time that I’ve had the CD. The drum beats are very tribal, but then the song takes on a more celestial kind of feel. I wish it was longer. It's great. Discovery - This is another favorite. It has a dreamy, majestic feel. It really takes me away. If I close my eyes while I listen to it, I can almost imagine that I’m out to sea, on a sailing ship, blue sky, wind in my face. Dreaming in Distant Worlds is a relaxing beautiful song. I love all the songs on this CD.

  • Rock-influenced tracks, trance atmospheres.

This CD brings soft and sweet ambient, reminding of Vangelis, J.M.Jarre, and other cosmic ambient creators. This 74-minutes cosmic journey is quite inspiring and non-monotonous as most of works in this genre, and there are some rock-influenced tracks, trance atmospheres.

  • Anyone can enjoy this disc.

Ambient Earth is a fifteen track instrumental effort with an emphasis on ambient testures and a progressive influence. The dreamy landscapes often pick up with some percussion and upbeat movements, without getting too complicated or busy. It is a disc any fan of music can enjoy.
