In September 2004, aspiring singer and grad school dropout Kari Basden moved to Texas and met fellow grad school dropout/singer/songwriter/science teacher Jared Dobbs. The two quickly fell for each other and got hitched. What was once the Jared Dobbs Band soon became a charming Texas folk duo. To avoid such cumbersome names as the Dobbses, The Dobbs Family Band, The Jared & Kari Dobbs Band, the Dobbseseses, they decided to go with Mosey. This simple, quaint name not only reflects their laid-back Americana style, but also is a reminder to slow down and mosey a little in life.

Intelligent Artistry
author: George MartinThe talent exhibited on this (hopefully not last) CD of Mosey's is undeniably inspired. Kari's vocals are enthralling, captivating and breathtakingly clean and smooth. The lyrics are well thought out and intelligent (reminiscent of the intelligence of Sting/Police, though along a different vein). And unlike so many artists these days, they write, compose and sing ... which shows true musical talent at all levels. My family was so rapidly hooked that my daughter frequntly requests this CD for car rides and bedtime. I just hope this is the beginning of many more!!
What a voice! Strong lyrical/musical experience
author: Ken HugghinsThe guitar work and instrumental arrangements are rich and drew me in. The lyrics kept me engaged and sent me away thinking. And the female vocals are simply siren-like -- I could easily "crash on the rocks" to keep listening! Good stuff! Do it again!
