This "Roots Rock/Blues" CD album features 10 songs from various genres from Blues through Instrumental to Rock and Ballards. The emphasis is always upon meaningful lyrics and melodious tunes regardless of the genre. With a backing band of classic 5 piece rock, the voices of Erle and Kathleen Montaigue with backing vocals from all other members ring out slightly above the music so that the lyrics can be heard. The Song "Forever" has just been added to MTV UK's play list and will begin to be shown in video format in February 2007. See the video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4nHvMzfosg

lovely original work. Not at all mainstream, and some excellent lyrics. The books and cd's are priceless! Rain in the desert!
awesome
author: StephenIt's nice to hear some original work, I've been getting fed up with artists who never come with anything of there own. This is great! -and the books it comes with are also awesome, earning a 5 star extra credit... that means this is a 10 star deal! good job Moontagu family :D
Written In Stone.
author: Tony JonesGood to hear some decent music. I enjoyed listening to this CD very much. I'm a keyboard player and vocalist so liked the musicianship featured here.
like, cool man
author: Philip CarpenterI really liked this cd actually. It has a number of different sounds on it, including a digereedoo (spelling?? well phonetically it's close eh?). I thought this cd was creative and interesting. Not too much sunshine in it though...

Rocking Montaigue's!
author: Maurice WesterlaanI must admit that I was mainly interested in the extra cd, with published books etc. But I must also admit that I like the music too, and I think it's quite special that an entire family work together as a band. My compliments and kind regards. Maurice.
The Moontagu's rock!
author: Jason DeAlbaI was not sure what to expect. The Moontagu's are very talented mustician in my opinion. I do like rock and blues. But I really bought the CD for the free Kung Fu information.

better than i expected!!!!!
author: ELNA R SABINEI didn't know what to expect, and it was quite a surprise to hear!
author: David BrunettaReminds me of growing up w/ a dad who played banjo, guitar elec and acoust, who wrote original songs w/ us all involved! I played sandpaper. I could hear the bond of love in the songs, Erle and family! Would love the printed out lyrics of these songs if possible? Written in stone, and the digerydo my favorites - so far.
GOOD
author: GILBERT HODGESTHIS CD WAS ONE THAT WHEN I FIRST LISTENED TO IT, IT WAS OK. BUT I NOTICE WHEN I WAS CLEANING THE HOUSE, WHILE IT WAS PLAYING I ONLY HEARD THE GOOD BLUES-SOFT ROCK AND NEVER NOTICED I HAD CLEANED THE WHOLE HOUSE. GOOD MUSIC ALWAYS TAKES YOU SOME WHERE ELSE. VERY GOOD JOB ERIE AND FAMILY.
excellent sound, and the vocals are top notch
author: Michael Hudsonwell I popped it in the player the day I got it and loved what I heard, I would definately buy any other albums they come out with from here on out.

author: Ken MillerJUST AWESOME!! Fantastic original music that is now added to my mostplayed list. Cannot wait to hear more.
stunning, touching, worth the time.
author: michael garrisonTruely stunning the amount of raw emotion you feel from the songs on this CD. worth every cent, havent removed it from my CD player sense it arrived, look forward to future releases.
I confess...
author: JavierI confess that I only bought the CD to receive books of Erle. But, after I listened to the CD, I can say that It is great! It is a good opportunity for you to listen both traditional and new work, at the same time.
Fresh, Raw Even But From Deep Within!
author: Perry GamsbyThe music has a fresh, even raw edge to it that says to me the best is yet to come. The mix of old and new voices creates a harmony of its own as you anticipate the next vocal swap while digesting what was said with the lyrics. It can be ambient background, but it is a better album for introspective, selfish absorbtion when you have an hour or so for yourself. Let it lead you places. The sound quality is not quite Sony Records, but then neither is the price. More sophisticated production facilities wouldn;t change the value of the music or the heart of the musicians. I would love to hear them live in a small, cosy pub!
a classic feel, but freshly done
author: AndrewIf you like bands like The Doors, and you also the natural sounds of bands like Fleetwood Mac, you'll probably like this CD. It's got a nice mix of energy.
Old and New
author: Kurt Levins Sr.Moontagu's music contains a basic classic blues/rock background while fusing with it a modern attitude resulting in a truly enjoyable listening experience.
Instantly One of My Favorites
author: Brandon UnderwoodThis is a great CD...wonderful musicianship and exceptionally original. The arrangements are very well conceived, with great interplay between instruments, and beautiful melodies that stay with you. The band members are all very accomplished on their instruments, but everyone plays naturally and with heart. The music is very pure and not at all over produced. I am sure the band can play these songs just as well live as they do on the album. This compilation beams with positivity and is just one great song after another. I really enjoy this album and recommend it without hesitation.
Great lyrics, soulful sounds - the digeridoo reflects the Aussy roots
author: Wally SimpsonProbable the best music these guys have produced to date. The soulful sounds of Nobody's Fool give notice of the emerging talents and great voice of the youngest member Kathleen. While the power and emotion of Written in Stone signal that Erle is still a force to be reconed with in the music world. Didg is a touch of the wonderful talent of Ben, his piano playing takes you away to a better world on this song. Through out the whole alburm Eli beat gets the body wanting to move with the groove. I hope this is only a small taste of things to come!!
Soulful music that speaks to the heart
author: Kevin DunnI have a long, stressful drive to and from work every day. This CD is exactly what I need to help me unwind on the way home.
Fantastic (-:
author: Richard CuthbertsonI dug this. Made me feel happy. Bit like a Spring breeze. The free books CD is magic as well.
Unique Stuff
author: Joseph WellingtonThis is really unique. A real Tai Chi Master whose kids also teach this art and they are all in an excellent band together! Unlike most modern music nowadays that is here today, gone tomorrow, this music grows and grows and I have not tired of it. I think it's because it simply makes you feel good listening to it. Maybe has something to do with the Tai Chi influence, although it is rock/blues genre and one would think, nothing to do with Tai chi, the relaxed manner in which it is played and the obvious joy and enthusiasm that the whole family exude is infectious.
it's the same as with erle's taichi....very good!
author: werner bertelsIf they should play this music in my favorite café I should asked for an other beer so that I could listen longer!
Music with passion
author: Morne SwanepoelJust one word comes to mind when listening to the Montaigue band.....PASSION ! This is a family with passion for music, and great music it is. Awesome lyrics, excellent tunes just plain brilliant !
Hear and Feel the Difference of Musical Genius
author: Steve McDermottRefreshing music to chill out by. A full sound, a lot happening here. Enjoy reminiscing the past...as well as visions of the future. Hear and feel the difference only a family of tai chi masters come musical geniuses can conjure.
Received the CD
author: ChrisJust oredered the Written In Stone CD two days ago as it is one of the best music I have heard of late. But receiving the free Lessons and Books CD was even more surprising as I have learnt more about self defence in one afternoon than in my whole 25 years of training! Thank you Moontagu.
Moontagu just keeps geting better and better
author: Colin PowerSongs written with meaning are sadly becoming rare. This album just lifts the soul and shows the depth of music that is Moontagu.
Shivers Up Yer SPine
author: Harry VI have this CD and every time I listen to the main track "Written In Stone" when the singer hits those high notes, it sends shivers down my back. Amazing. Can't wait for the next one.
Nice music for my ears
author: Dag LThis CD from Moontagu had surprisingly nice music for me and my ears. I have loved rock music for 40 years, and I'm also fond of blues. The mixture of these styles on this CD makes it well worth having in one's personal collection.
- author: Chris Scott.
The multi talented Montaigue family hace come up trumphs with their Cd Written in Stone. Erle's outstanding reputation as a singer songwriter, earned in Aus. has now travelled with him to Europe! I can not recommend the Cd highly enough to anyone interested in quality writing and singing...buy it now before eveyone else snaps it up and leaves you high and musically dry!
Erle`s Blues voice is awesome
author: Athos AntoniadesWith all the manufactured music around nowdays,it is refreshing to hear real music from real musicians.Erles `Blues` voice is awesome.A must have CD for all `real` music lovers. Also check out Erles earlier work-BRILLIANT!
Well played and sung old style rock music for the nolstalgic.
author: DanielThis CD provides very well played and sung tracks of old style rock. If you yearn for relief from current overdriven sounds then listen to this CD. The musicianship sounds crisp and clear, a charactistic of these players. The contrast between the vocalists adds interest to the CD.
Something For Everyone Here
author: Gary SweetIn a time when we see most cd albums with one or two good songs and the rest rubbish, this cd album has 10 great songs covering most genres. This is unusual as I found it difficult to find a pigeon hole for this CD. There is blues, Funk, Rock, Ballads, Pop, and even Folk with a World music instrumental thrown in such is the versatility of this band. I will buy this CD when it is available again, hopefully soon.
Slick, soulful blues here from the 'family that play together'
author: Toxic PeteMoontagu - Demo - Forever, Forever (www.moontagu.org.uk) Slick, soulful blues here from the 'family that play together'. Moontagu is essentially the Montaigue family; aged between 15 to 57, Moontagu originate from Australia but now live in Wales and have an impressive musical pedigree. 'Forever, Forever' is tasty piece of contemporary blues featuring riff laden guitars with sultry piano that sits snugly alongside and a solidly built rhythm section that holds everything tightly together. This is mature blues, blues nurtured from hard working experience and musical knowledge born from a united family that all seem to be pulling in the same direction whilst looking for and, it has to be said, achieving the same things. 'Forever, Forever' grooves slowly along but there's always something pretty cool going on; if it's not the guitars that take 'stage front' then it the beautifully rolling piano. The vocals are suitably 'pained' with a slightly warm feel but always crystal clear. This 'family' certainly know what they're doing! 'Forever, Forever' is well crafted, expertly arranged and certainly well performed. From the way Moontagu present everything I get the distinct impression that they are all absolute perfectionists and nothing is left to chance. Moontagu have a sound that's quite distinct and well honed. If I'm disappointed about anything here it's that there's only one track to get my teeth into; appetite definitely now whetted I yearn for more from Moontagu. Peter J Brown aka toxic pete (www.toxicpete.co.uk) (Rhythm & Booze rating 8)
Music cd
author: Wayne SpringerNow normally this is not the type of music that i would listen too,but a musician you and your family our great stuff and keep up the good work. This took me back to the days i was a Mod riding around on a scooter three types of music 60's soul, Ska & chill out music of the new world yeah baby.
Soulful Rock and Blues
author: Frank Rolon - Blue Sky BaseThe songs are awesome, very soulful and heartfelt. Great guitar and vocal melodies. I really enjoyed the clips and will buy the CD when it is available. The video is awesome as well.
Unique Style - Authentic Musicians
author: Steve MorrisThe entire album contains a mix of slow soulful melodic rock with some interesting upbeat numbers. Most people prefer the track Forever but Written In Stone is the standout track for me. Everlasting Love, one of the upbeat tunes runs it a close second. Unique vocals added with some well mixed percussive tones make this a highly enjoyable listen.
This cd is the real deal
author: Roger HackThere's nothing flashy or pretentious about the music on this cd. Just honest to goodness, down to earth, soulful blues rock. The Moontagu family band play from the heart and that comes through track after track. For anyone who enjoys music with lyrics that actually mean something, this cd is highly recommended.
- author: Lars-Erik Olsen
Nice album!! Pleasuring acoustic sound! And excellent for chilling out on the floor infront of the fire with a cup of tea, after a hard day at work. Check it out!!!

Great songs that stir your emotions!
author: EspenI've known Montaigue for several years, and both he and his children are amazingly talented, both in martial arts and music. The songs on "Written in Stone" are great, Erle's vocal is excellent and the sound is very ambient. Great choice!
A CD not from the 60's is added to my collection
author: Dave McKinnonI don't know much about music theory, I know what I enjoy and this brings me back to my favorite period - the 60's. I find rock blues very refreshing. It is amazing that one family has so much talent.
lovely, lively and astonishly
author: Piet v.d. HoutGreat music, very lively vocals, astonishly play of instruments. And foremost lovely played in harmony and spirit.
Still having fun!
author: AnyahGreat to hear this band is still having fun. It's a long way from those taiji camp days in the nineties and it's a real pleasure to see how the music has turned out. Keep it up Moontagu!
You'll want to hear this over and over!
author: Kay ThorenThis is the kind of music you'll play over and over. The songs are from the heart and you can relate to the feelings that come thru the lyrics and just sit back and enjoy the great instrumental sections as real rock blues. A great mix of tunes. You'll never get bored listening to this album. Love it! keep 'em coming Erle!
Cool
author: Jackson AustraliaAs much as Erle is a master of martial arts and a master musician, pretty decent singer with it, what continues to inspire me most is Erle's mastery of the "art of living" which this CD shows. The words show a life lived and loved. LIsten to those words. His enthusiasm for everything he does and his sense of family I find truly uplifting and a real testament to himself and what he teaches. Thanks for this clip Erle. Very Cool.
IT is ready
author: Creative CafeRef. The Song Forever from "Written In Stone" Appeal Enjoyable. Very Enjoyable. I can see this song being performed in small venues and large. I think it’s a crowd pleaser. Like everyone else, the commercial market for this genre is limited (I’m complaining!). The musicianship is excellent. I found myself hoping that there would be extended solos on this track. Good group. I thought the vocal really added to the strength of the song. Good blues voice. So, whoever was singing, you did a great job. I know it’ s very difficult at times to find the right singer for a song (especially demos). Believe me, it makes a big, big difference. The vocalist sold the song, and that’s what you want.
interesting fusion of jazz, folk and blues
author: Michael BabinAn interesting mix of moods and influences. The vocals and words range from the sweet, smoothness of the young Kathleen to the husky soulfullness of Erle. A great cd for those who can't experience this band live!
Refreshing blend of ethnic, rock and folk
author: Roger RandallBuy this CD - you won't regret it! Well crafted and inspirational music to get your foot tapping and insightful lyrics to provoke every mood and emotion possible. Great to hear Erles fantastic voice and searing guitar has not lost any of its power over the years - if anything, its even better than before! The other family members of this unique band perform 'out of their skin' providing strong rhythmical and vocal lines that weave a cascade of sound that is beautiful to behold. Don't waste anymore time reading these reviews - go and buy the CD - NOW!
What an amazing colaboration of sounds for the soul!!
author: Melanie Hedlund-Millbrook, Ontario, CanadaI find it amazing that this album isn't number 1 on the music charts in both Canada and the United States. How wonderful that a family can bring such emotion and magic to the table and have evolve such a unique a wonderful sound. My personal favorite song has to be Forever!! I will most certainly follow Moontagu's career from this day forward. I can't wait for the next album to come out....Way to go, and thank you so much for bringing such energy to your music!!

author: James MarincicIt takes me back to 60s and 70s, I always enjoyed relaxing music that I culd sit back and listen to. This is exsackly the music that I love, great piano ply and great quitar! Not mention the voicess-keep up the great work!Cheers and have a good day Jimbo (FC)
A must for anyone looking for music that is both refreshingly novel, directly sp
author: Josephine AndersonThe lyrical quality and the idiom of the two voices used, Kathleen’s and Erle’s, in each of the pieces is highly personal, discernable above the rhythm and tonality of the instrumentation, yet melded with it and delivered in the large strokes of the whole band to achieve the effect of a ringing and poignant clarity. Whether it be in the spirit of nostalgia, or the declaration of love that is so self-evident that one need not understand it, but only feel one’s way through it, or the durable lessons of life, the human in all of its warmth and flesh is written in stone, the honesty and integrity of emotions never refuted by time or passing fads. Each member of the band fits together well organically in a sound that works just as the way a family ought to work. A must for anyone looking for music that is both refreshingly novel, directly speaking to the heart, and perennial.
Yes that is good musik
author: Jackson van HuutThis is real musik which I am used to. If they play this on the Nedlands radio, I will turn it back on again.
Truly refreshing! Creatively and artistically arranged by great instrumentalists
author: Larry SimmonsI loved this CD. It was absolutely refreshing to listen to such creative music performed by very accomplished musicians! The creative, artistically arranged, and sophisticated instrumentals were a joy. Moontagu exhibits a mastery of many musical genres. Forever was my favorite, but I was truly amazed, entertained, and mesmerized that GREAT music could come from a "DIG".

author: Buzz SmithExcellent Album
Truly enjoyed the CD. The combination of vocals were excellent.
author: Al KrychTruly enjoyed the entire CD. I have listened to other music written and performed by this artist and by his band. This CD was not a disappointment. The vocals were great, the music tracks were pleasing and Kathleen did an excellent performance singing with her father. I especially liked Forever. I have watched this family band grow together in their blending of unique skills and attributes, this CD is a must listen to.

Great album, the Musicianship is great and the vocals are so strong.
author: Andy WriteThe Variety of songs is wonderful, not like most CD's nowadays that have great songs but all sound the same. This one has great songs and Variety.
Deeply Moved with "Written in Stone"
author: Brian AlexanderI had of the pleasure of meeting Erle and his family in May 2006 regarding my professional career as a martial artist. Up until that point I had not heard any of their music. Being a former musician of moderate success myself I was excited when I received a sample CD. I remember sitting back at that hotel that evening listening to the CD when the song “Written in Stone” came on. I was deeply moved by this song and played it over and over many times. It evoked strong feelings in me (guess I'm sort of a romantic at heart). It is my belief that anyone who listens to this song closely will see that there is something uniquely special about Erle’s voice and style. It’s no wonder he was once voted #1 male singer in his former home of Australia. In addition, I have listened to several of the bands songs spanning much of their career and have come to appreciate each musician's evolving talent and blossoming creativity. There’s no where to go but up with these folks. Best of luck and good job Mootagu!
Songs of love, encouragement and a bridge to the gap between generations

author: Samuel BeattyThe Moontagu Band i got to hear years ago in Australia when the children were in there early teens along with there father Erle they were jamming away.it was soothing and moving and to see and hear them now is assume!!!!!there music holds the key to what up coming musicians should be playing not so much the Moontagu style but the passion that goes into making music,we as humans have forgot the love of music and making music that sends out the vibration of love,i believe the Moontagu band brings us back to that earthy feeling of music, one should stay true to there roots and that's just what the Moontagu band does. thank you for your sound hoprfully other people will appreciate your music as much as myself. thanks Samuel Beatty
Great from start to finish, love every song
author: John LarmenI've Been listening to this CD for over a month now and every time I listen to it I here something that I missed the first time, there are so many great solos and melodies in it that you keep coming back for more, and then there's the moving lyrics too. Great stuff

What an AWESOME CD! Moontagu's "Written In Stone" is for the true lover of the Blues/Rock genre. The lyrics are haunting and the Guitar work is inspiring. This CD has great sounds and is a sure credit to the music business
author: Colin & Mitzi OrrKnown Erle for many years now associated with his mastery of Taiji, his new CD album is also a master piece showing his versatility in the music World. His sounds are a sure credit to the music business. The backing solos are especially great with traditional vocals by a well oiled team. It’s a pleasure to hear music with a soul that soothes and relaxes.
Well crafted, intelligent and heartfelt: excellent.
author: The Grifster - independent criticThis offering from Moontagu is very good indeed. The writing is intelligent and packed with feeling. The band are very tight performers both individually and as a team. If I could think of an appropriate metaphor for this well-crafted piece, it would be of a brilliant sunrise coming over the horizon on one of those rare bright and crispy-clear winter mornings, full of energy and significance and leaving one inspired for the day ahead. 5 well-deserved stars. Well done.
- author: Paul Cook (Sade Drummer)
I really like the song Cool Water a real HIT....I have asked the band if I can work on it and we should be releasing it via my P Eye Eye project see... www.peyeeye.com Buy the album. Paul Cooke
