notes

I play folk music like my father used to. Songs for sunny days by the pond. People like Leonard Cohen, Jason Molina, The Microphones, Donovan, Dock Boggs, Townes Van Zandt and Nick Drake have changed my life and the way I play music.

I play guitar and ukulele and whatever cheap instrument fits into my little San Francisco apartment (examples: saw, toy pianos, synths). I'm a big fan of bedroom recording and hand-made things.

My songs are sad, sappy and sweet.

I play at least once or twice a month in the city and I'm constantly recording and releasing DIY CDS. I have finished 5 US tours and usually spend about 2 months on the road a year.

I am also constantly collaborating with amazing musicians in whatever city I happen to be living.

My most recent project involves writing and recording a song for every month that I am 26. I am releasing each song as it is finished (within the month that it is written) with a piece of artwork and a scan of the original journal entry where the song was written. It can be found here:

  • go with the flow

Less is more and this is for shure for this (mini)album. A sort of oldfashion tubesound brings in the warm voice of mr. moomaw and with subtle instrumentation it is a soft but strong river flowing in my room.

  • Sentimental and soulful.

Nathan's music somehow manages to break your heart while filling it with happiness at the same time. He is a talented musician and a sentimental lyricist with a beautifully soulful voice and all of that is on display on this wonderful CD.
