“What is the sound of the MoFo Party band? It's raw and nasty. It's filled with sharp corners. It's the Sound of grit and salt and mechanic's grease. These guys play mean, man.”
- Joe Reinartz, Associate Editor Pollstar Magazine
Since 1989 The MoFo Party Band has been spreading the blues along Central California’s Highwy 99 via their home of Fresno. Influenced by West Coast and old-school Chicago Blues, The MoFo Party Band provides a sound and show that is all about having a good time. “People tell us they like us because it always looks like we are having fun,” says lead guitarist Bill Clifton, “that’s because we are and we love what we do.”
With four records on the shelf, The MoFo Party Band is currently working on their fifth release, due out in early 2006. Consistently playing over 100 shows a year for more than a decade positions The MoFo Party Band to take their show across North America & Europe. Internet and specialty radio servicing, along with continued in-store promotional stops are being scheduled in conjunction with their live performances.
The MoFo Party Band is led by the Clifton brothers Bill & John. The current line up includes: Bill Clifton on lead guitar, John Clifton on lead vocals and harp, Jake Finney on upright bass and Sky Garcia on drums. Both regional and international press, in addition to niche print publications, have covered the Mofo Party Band over the years. “Invigorating, straight forward, honest stuff!” says Ken Smith, Red Lick Records, Wales, UK.
The MoFo Party Band has played many festivals such as the Sonora Blues Festival, the San Francisco Blues Festival and an appearance on the B.B. King Blues Festival tour. From playing as the backup band for late Chicago blues legend Luther Tucker, to sharing the stage with blues legends Bo Diddley, Robert Cray, Charlie Musselwhite, Los Lobos, Otis Rush, Little Charlie and the Night Cats, Tommy Castro and others, The MoFo Party Band is a well respected and hard working band on the West Coast blues scene.
The MoFo Party Band is scheduling performance dates across North America & Europe to bring their brand of blues to new audiences.
The MoFo Party Band’s high-energy show will keep blues fans dancing all night long. “These guys are crowd pleasers, and they go the extra mile no matter if it’s a big festival or small club audience!” – Mark Hummel, Promoter of “Harmonica Blowout Tour”.
Keep your cocktails chilled and your dancin’ shoes polished when The MoFo Party Band comes to town, because you will be sure to experience a show like no other.
