notes

The Modern Society began much like a natural disaster forms: several elements of different origins and proportions collide forming something both dangerous and beautiful. Being fans of the early 60’s polished mod movement along with the gritty leather and rock n’ roll culture of the 50’s, these young musicians formed The Modern Society. Combining several elements from their diverse influences, listeners from a variety of musical tastes have been able to easily relate to the music they create.

Having only played a total of three shows, the band managed to grab two award nominations including “Best New Band in Atlanta” and the “Peoples Choice Award: Best Band in Atlanta” at the 2005 Atlanta Music Guide Awards.

"Footstomping, sweat enhancing rock n' roll from the deep South...but rather sound like their Nashville country neighbors, they sound more like their New York City cousins"

"...engaging...highly energetic..." -Atlanta Music Guide

"...great song writers...I won't be surprised if we get to hear more from this band in the future..." -Melodicnet

"...some of Atlanta's most talented musicians ..."
-fatasainbaby.com

"An Atlanta band that dresses impeccably. Combine that with a bunch of hook-heavy tunes that are easy as pie to sing along to and it's not that difficult to figure out why these guys are making so much noise here in the A-T-L."
-Caren West

I really dig their blend of music. BooBoo's uncle and I are friends and he turned me on to their site. So I'm thinking "OK doing a relative a good turn!!!!"...Bullsh--!!! He was doing me, my friends and family a great turn. Modern Society IS IT!!!! Riles in Phoenix AZ

  • Very good, Soundtrack for 3 a.m. is definetly the new hit song!
    author: Tiffanie Kay

It's a whole new sound of music. It has edge, and it keeps you wanting to hear more. This band is definetly going to go somewhere, I am only happy I was able to hear it before it came out on some major music television show, then it may have just been swepted away with the rest of those teenie bopping songs on TRL.

  • EXCELLENT TUNES, GUYS!!!

  • The CD will sell itself.
    author: Garrett Wild

Every song is great! Just one listen and your hooked. This CD is complete quality and can sell itself. Everyone who hears it when I play it is very impressed. My personal favorite is Law School, which is a dynamic song that transforms my modern life into a modern society. I envision that any song on this cd can be put in a movie or tv show such as the O.C. and would make that show 10 times better! Congrats to the fellows of the MOSO. Your fans appreciate it.

  • Fantastically Sensational

  • FUCKING INCREDIBLE
    author: alexandra

from woody's heart-breaking melodies to tyler's liquid guitar lines, boo boo's haunting bass lines and thomas's bad ass beats that make your feat stomp...this record is sure to make a mark this year...the year of THE MODERN SOCIETY
