notes

In 2004, a Second Experimental recording was produced and finished after "Enta Da Stickman". Looking to go in direction more toward dancable Funk and involving more of a Detroit Techno and House influence, "Electric Otto b.k.a Matthew MCR Ellison II" was recorded and Mixed-Down in two days time.

The CD is named after Ellison's second alias "Electric Otto." "Stupid Stickman(MCR)" is his other alias. "Electric Otto" is also a Cartoon character created by Matthew MCR Ellison II. "Electric Otto" is also the second of two main characters from Ellison's illustrated stories:"Stupid Stickman(MCR)" is the first. Both characters are the same person.

A Experimental recording created by trial and error, Matthew sought to fuse the best elements of Jazz, make it more Dance orientated, fuse the Jazz elements with Electronic Music and at the same time make the music Super Funky. The goal was to create a new form of Electronic Funk with a live musician's feel that would keep people on the Dance floor.

A lot of risks were taken along with a great deat of Experimentation with both the fusion of the different styles, Sound Levels, Frequencies, Mixing and also using the Fostex MR-8 Digital Multi-Tracker ( a small Digital 8-track studio/recorder that Matthew uses on all his recordings) as a Secret and New Instrument.

A lot of the tracks are recorded at Long Lenghts to study the music and to also allow DJ's to use the tracks for Mixing.

This Recording was Inspired by the Song "Coney Island" from Matthew's previous cd "Enta Da Stickman". That song was the song that pushed Matthew in the Direction He was looking to go musically. Also, "Electric Otto B.K.A Matthew MCR Ellison II" is the Blueprint/Protype to the CD'S Matthew released afterwards which are: "Detroit Funk-Jazz Fusion", "313 FUNK" and "Motor City Rawfunk:Matthew MCR Ellison II Is The Future Of FUNK!!!!".
