notes
I am Marshall McLean. I am 21 years old and am married to my wife Nina since August, 2005. I met Nina in Italy when we were both 16. I am a working artist and songwriter based out of Spokane, Washington North of town somewhere in the woods. I'm inspired to be a songwriter by the power of words, the mystery of the music and the beauty of both when happening together.
I’m very interested in the following things: fair trade coffee, books that bring change, The Sermon on the Mount, loving my enemies, organic food and lifestyles, C.S. Lewis, my friends Matt Watts, David August, Matt Schvanevet, and Steven Gnam, investing in the poor, my cat Mia B., my family, Gibson Guitars, fine wines, meeting new people, stimulating conversation, revolution, grace, hunger, travel, peace, practicing the words of Christ.
My favorite quote right now is “when you cannot do the good that you would, do the good that you can” -Matthew Henry
Marshall McLean has put out two albums. The Pilgrim Sessions (2004) which is an organic project recorded with Marshall and his guitar only. His latest work, Heaven’s Grey (2006) is a full band recording featuring songs like “The End of Me” and “Vanity.” Both projects draw strongly from personal reflection and are available online and at Marshall’s performances.
He is the Winner of the 2006 Gibson New Musician Award presented at Hatchfest in Bozeman, Montana where he preformed the song “The Ordinary Things.” He was later featured on Gibson’s website.
Marshall is a frequent performer and speaker at many venues across the Northwest including churches, coffee houses, and high schools. Marshall travels with his wife Nina promoting his albums and sharing his music and words with people. He is currently writing a concept album based on the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ (Matthew 5-7).

Amazing
author: AlexI got this for my girlfriend. She has never found a song that she can really connect to more than "The End of Me". It truly touched her. She said she has felt very close to all of Marshall's songs, but none more than that one. She loves this guy. I like it too, but I can't explain how she feels about it.
Top Notch Song Writing!
author: Lance FisherMarshall is very talented at the guitar. I had never even heard of Travis picking before I saw him, so needless to say, I was blown away by his excellent Travis picking and unique style. Then, listening to the album, I got to pick up on all the lyrics that I didn't catch at the show. This is some top notch song writing. Heaven's Grey is his best album so far. Also, see him live if you get the chance.
The best CD I have purchased in a long time!
author: MonicaNo question about it, Marshall's CD is AMAZING. I have introduced him to my friends and sisters and they love him too! It is a complete, genuine, and easy to listen to CD. I suggest if you dont already own it, buy it today. It is worth the money.
Best album by best friend
author: JustinFrom his first release of 100 when he was 15, to the split I did with him 4 years ago, to this...has been a progression that's been amazing to watch. This album is amazing, and brings so many memories, like him writing "Dandelion" at the campfire. I can't wait for the concept album. Another 5 star album from a 5 star dude.

Inspring and Thoughtful
author: MattI have joined the ranks of proud owners of Marshall's newest CD. I heard about Marshall through a buddy of mine who currently lives in Washington and upon listening to songs and clips of songs I could find on various websites I decided his album was a must have and I have been more than pleased with the purchase. Amazing lyrics and incredible guitar playing. Marshall is in the top 5 artists to see live before I leave this world. If you don't have this album you're missing out. Kudos to you, Marshall.....

One of the best
author: KristianMarshall McLean is one of the best singer/song writers around today. This is by far one of the best cd's out there today. I would put him along side of Derek Webb and if you don't have this cd, you must. I can' wait for what the future has in store for Marshall and what is to come from him.
