It was a kick in the pants that marked the beginning of a music career for singer/songwriter Mickael Maddison.
In 2004, Mickael's wife, Kim, insisted that it was time to record some of his songs. "She really didn't make it sound like I had a choice" says Mickael. By early 2005 his first EP Free consisting of 6 original tracks was being produced by James Lipoth.
Before the CD was completed, word got out and 2 songs from the EP were receiving airplay on the Kamloops popular music station 97.5FM "The River" as well as the Thompson Rivers University station 92.5FM "The X" which ranked the CD in the top 12. "The River" stepped behind Mickael by promoting the CD locally through commercials, on-air contests, on-location contests, and inviting him to play his first ever live show for their annual Family Fun Festival in 2006.
Since July 2006, Mickael has played many live shows to a growing fan base. "The Support I've received was entirely unexpected and has been life changing. I am far more involved in music now than I have ever been." Mickael is currently writing and recording tracks which he expects to release as singles prior to the completion of his first full-length album.
Outside of Music, Mickael is a family man, self-professed geek and CEO of SilverServers Inc. (www.SilverServers.com), an international website hosting and development company. "It's the perfect job" comments Mickael, "I have the flexibility that every starting musician dreams of. I can adjust my schedule around shows and practices, yet I have the stability of a full-time career."
When asked about his plans for the future, he simply states "The future is looking very interesting!"

author: Dave ZirnheltI listen to Free all the time! Everyone I play it for loves it as well. 'When I'm Free' is a great title track, but I can't decide if my favourite is 'Drink' or 'Castle on a Cloud'. I predict more radio play for this amazing debut album!
