For the longest time this page has gone without any kind of bio on the Miles Long collective or on me. I had something else planned to go in this space when I came to this page today, but was pleasantly and almost overwhelmingly surprised by the very cool reviews on this 2nd CD, “Love & Other Social Issues.” To be honest, I had a moment. Actually, another one of THOSE moments. The quiet kind of moment where time almost stands still and all of my fears, doubts, insecurities and worries dissipate in one real, deep breath. I am focused on the present moment when suddenly this enormous wave of gratitude completely washes over me as I realize-and therefore, under the circumstances, MUST accept-that people do dig my music. I DO have an audience! In a game where integrity is your biggest asset, but is made to feel as if it’s your worse curse, it’s these moments of immense gratification that make an artist continue to follow their path. It’s inspiring and validating. I know that theoretically we aren’t supposed to want /need validation from outside sources, but let’s be real-what’s the point of sharing your soul if no one cares to listen?

To everyone who has purchased my CD and enjoyed it; to everyone who has shared their thoughts and feelings about my music in a review; and to all of you who continually show me love and support, I thank you and appreciate you from the bottom of my gut. For those of you hearing about my music for the first time, simply take a listen and read the reviews. I could come up with all kinds of selling points but, in all honesty, I feel that writing anything above and beyond what everyone else has already written would possibly be doing too much. Suffice it to say that I have spent the last several years living this CD-growing as a man, an actor, a poet, and a musician-and I couldn’t be more proud of what has been born. I’m already looking forward to what’s ready to come out next!

And lastly, I want to give a big shout out to CDBaby and the other digital download platforms that support us independent artists and for providing a forum to get our music and messages out.

    Great great great album. Malcolm has blossomed on the music scene and if this album is a reflection then only great things will come from him in the future. This album has every element of cool, funk, and definitely has a hint of baby-making music. I will promote this to the NYC crowd who can appreciate this vibe and then some. Can't wait for the next album or your next performance in NYC.

    This CD is too good for words. I thought his first CD was amazing (which it is), and now this one is even more fantastic. I never really appreciated spoken word until Miles Long. It's like I've discovered a new gift. Buy this CD and you will love it, too.

    I can't quite remember what prompted me to check out Miles Long, but it was musically a life changing experience. I never thought that Spoken Word could be this...well, groovy, for lack of a better term(while remaining meaningful and thought-provoking). I listen to it so much that my girlfriend teases me about it, but I know that she secretly likes to hear it just as much. My anticipation for the sequel couldn't be higher. Keep up the great work.

    This is the most hypnotic musical project I've heard in years. Do I dare compare it to the first time I heard the LAST POETS? Yes, MILES LONG is that deep. As well as fun, thought-provoking and timely. Miles long? I have a feeling this band has just stepped a few inches. They have so much too say! I love the vibes!!! Encore!

    This CD is awesome.I'm touched by it. i like keep smiling,what if summer and sprung but my favorite is Confession.or you like this or is it that your so good with words they just flow.if its you than you are hot boo and if it just flows your still hot. My all time favorite is Ascension. are you reading my thoughts or what because i am a giver and you have spoken what i like to give to a man.Its like you tapped into my feelings on that subject. i want to make my man feel that way to give him pleasure more than receive it that was to deep and i love every bit of it.     I was overjoyed when I heard "Sprung". I was playing it in my office when a co worker stopped by to listen. A few minutes later I had her number and immediately ordered both cd's. A week later we were at my home. I put the cd on turned the lights down low, the words started to flow and she began to move. That way a women does when she's comfortable in her own skin and the place she's in. A groove as timeless as time itself. The melodies played and we laid there all alone in the dark. The clothes came off she came on and the next song began to start. The next morning I said a quiet thank you to the miles long crew. Then I hit replay called her over and we began anew. BUY it!!!!! It's so worth it!!

    Thanks for a great project. I checked out your website after hearing your promo for the Dec 14 event at the Temple Bar. Wanted to attend for my birthday. I did purchase tickets but schedule conflict prevented me from seeing the live performance. I purchased both CDs in anticipation of the live performance and I've enjoyed them both the past couple of weeks. Very versatile. I can do my home workout, sit back with candlelight after a long day and just chill or rock these CDs in the car! Very thought provoking and funky. You say aloud what some of us think quietly. Go ahead and do some more! Looking forward to the next work.
