notes
Catchy and melodic pop tunes from an intellectual and sensitive lyricist.
From classic cars, to cappuccino girls through issues of sexuality, addiction and deja vu at the grocery store, this album delivers insight and satire with a one-two pop punch.

Great!
author: BruceThis CD came out in 1999, but I only discovered it in Dec. of 2005, and it's one of the best CDs I bought all year. Excellent songwriting and a beautiful voice, with a certain vulnerability, but never 'cutesy' like Juliana Hatfield. The closest comparison I can think of is Tanya Donnelly, but Melany Joy Beck's voice grows on you even more!
J'adore ! Top Music
author: Boris from France...It is just a pleasure to listen. Even in France we know it ! ;-)
lyrics + guitar = delight
author: JEHi am trying to figure out if the signer is singing or the guitar is signing...or both. the sound is brilliant, unique and softly haunting. i love it!
Like A Breath of Fresh Air
author: DilengerBeck sounds like she keeps her approach to music simple, and it works. she knocks people to the floor with this record. who would think that a little UP girl could take the world by storm with her beautiful, elegant songs. this record is a hit, there is no geting around it. Beck nails it on the record. Check her out!
This rulz.
author: TannilleI am sending friends online the url..and they stem from LA,to Hawaii ..The lyrics rule as well as the mellow music.
An Incredible Sophomore Effort by These Talented Artists
author: Jaime RoganI bought the debut album, "Spitting up Roses", which I couldn't get enough of. So when "Built for Comfort not Speed", was released, I knew that it would be as great, if not better. I love all of the songs, especially Jane Doe. I can't wait to see them live. Please keep me posted on the dates!
