Mils aka Justin Knight moved to Saskatchewan early in life and grew up in Saskatoon and Prince Albert. He has been composing, producing, while also writing, rapping on hip hop albums as well as the stage since 1998. Besides producing music and performing with Innersoulflow, Mils has had work featured on 23 releases so far throughout North America and Japan. Mils is fast becoming known as an “artist’s artist” in the underground hip hop world. His incredible talent for producing fresh, new music with compelling unheard of beats drawn from the collective soul is attracting renowned underground hip hop artists to his door from all over North America. This all started when he began composing beats and having his production featured on heavyweights such as the Living Legends records such as CMA, The Grouch, Luckyiam.PSC (1 which sold 23, 000 copies), Pigeon John (Quannum), as well as Scarub to name a few. After producing numerous records for other artists Mils decided it was time to release his own solo debut! “The AND Album”, which features MC’s from all four corners of North America. Notable features are Manik1derful in Vancouver, BC, to MC Paul Barman from New York to get an idea. Recently Mils has worked with Atlanta based artist Stic.Man of Dead Prez and the Outlawz (The Outlawz were crew who released some of the best music with the now gone, but legendary rapper Tupac!). Along with success internationally Mils also won “Best Hip/Hop/Rap Album” at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards held in Toronto in 2005 for his sister Eekwol’s debut album entitled “Apprentice 2 The Mystery” which was fully composed and produced by Mils.
Future plans include realeasing a brand new album with Eekwol called “Eekwol & Mils - The List” which was part of the “10K20” project which was fully funded by Rawlco Radio. This new album was composed, produced, co-written, and features Mils returning to the microphone as a rapper, and has very special guests on it, mainly Stic.Man of Dead Prez, and Mass, also a member of Innersoulflow. Along with this new release Mils is excited to hit the stage, and step back into the Performing aspect of his music. Performing and music and creativity is in his blood, literally, with a Juno award winning uncle named “Chester Knight” as well a Father and Uncles, his sister Eekwol, and an entire family who all are avid musicians, actors, and performers, it’s only natural for Mils to live and breathe music.
