"It's lovely music, played beautifully by each...very together!"
Lee Konitz, New York

" SYNERGY is a duet album...Miles and Tom are up to the challenge and show the empathy and musical maturity neccessary to bring forth the best in each of them. It's on repeat mode in my CD player"
Paul Horn

SYNERGY, the musical collaboration between pianist Miles Black and flutist Tom Keenlyside, represents their long standing artistic vision and friendship. Strongly melodic and spontaneous, the music of Synergy roams the jazz landscape with passion and authority. Black and Keenlyside play together with contrapuntal grace, weaving through challenging harmonic structures steeped in the jazz tradition.

Tom Keenlyside’s music career has spanned over four decades, featuring performances and recordings throughout North America and Europe. His saxophone and flute playing have been featured with a wide variety of groups at many major festivals, including the Newport Jazz Festival, the Montreal International Jazz Festival and the Montreux-Detroit Jazz Festival. He has performed with many of the biggest names in the music business, including Dizzy Gillespie, Tom Jones, Natalie Cole, Mel Torme, Diana Krall, Harry Connick and many others.

Miles Black is considered one of the finest pianists in Canada. His masterful playing has been featured throughout North America and in Europe with a vast array of jazz luminaries, such as Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Houston Person, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Kenny Wheeler and Paul Horn.
