When master fiddler Vassar Clements heard Mike play guitar way back in 1975, he did the sensible thing. He hired him. Clements calls him simply, "One of the finest guitar players there is, anywhere". Before embarking on a solo performance career, Mike also worked and recorded with Jethro Burns and jazz violin great Joe Venuti. He's been a frequent guest on public radio's "A Prairie Home Companion" and in 2005 was one of a dozen acclaimed acoustic guitarists honored with a Grammy for their solo guitar contributions to "Henry Mancini Pink Guitar". Blue Fandango is a stunning collection of solo guitar instrumentals and vocals that captures the range of Mike's extraordinary talent.

excellent music excellently played.Fabulous technician
author: chris dumiganI heard his Cd played on radio2 in UK late one night as i was driving.Being a guitarist myself i was taken by his wonderful performance but hadn't caught his name or the CD's title.I stayed in the car even though I had reached my destination to wait for its title and player. The following day I went on the internet hunting for it. I was not disappointed, and can thoroughly recommend it to any guitar lovers.
