*****CD Review*****
It’s unfortunate that Real country music has all but disappeared from today’s country radio. The great artist that paved the way for the stars of today have been ignored and replaced by assembly line type productions that resemble fairy tales. Country music has always been about everyday people and real life situations.
This CD collection of original songs written and performed from the heart by Independent artist, Mike Diamond, offers that and much, much more!
Borrowing from the deepest roots of country music, the song Innocent Blues is right out of the pages of a Jimmie Rogers book of Dixieland blues mixed with a Hank Williams’ Honky Tonk twist. Traces of Merle Haggard’s influence can be heard throughout in Mike’s delivery and writing style. Both Willie & Waylon would be proud of the “Outlaw “stance and style shown in Our Freedom’s Fadin’ Fast. Mixing in some humor, songs about heartbreak and lovesick, along with a personal tribute to Country Legend, Johnny Paycheck, rounds out this debut CD perfectly!
Just like the title says, Old School… IS Back In Session!
