notes
Midnight Eleven started taking shape in early 2004, when legendary guitarist, producer Danny Kortchmar joined forces with lifelong friends and collaborators guitarist Zonder Kennedy and singer harmonica player Mark Grandfield.Drawing on their extensive backgrounds in American roots music, they started writing.Drummer Joe Bonadio came on board, and by October they were ready to record. The songs were cut live in the studio with no overdubbing and no bass player. The results draw from the past without living in it.

author: Michael BramKick Ass! Mark Granfield is the real deal.
Would you expect anything less than great form Danny Kortchmar? - no disappointm
author: Bruce DownsIncredible humor and musicianship combined in a deeply satisfying musical experience. Plug it in the player and go for a long drive to your favorite place.
Fantastic! Kootch does it again!
author: Bob BradshawIn the spirit of Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar's bluesy Slo Leak offerings, comes Midnight Eleven, a steamy, slinky, bag of funk. Infused with warmth, grit and a healthy dose of humor, this is future blues, folks. And where did he get that singer!!?? Muddy is sure smiling down on these boys!
crackles with intensity..urgency and foreboding run through the 10 original trac
author: larry white [adultpop.com]Grandfield has been imbued with the spirit of John lee Hooker and Bobby "Blue" Bland.. he has now joined forces with famed Guitarist/songwriter/producer Danny Kortchmar[Don henley,Neil Young]..a potent mix of grit and soul..
From the first note this is roots music at its best.
author: Chico HuffSo nice to hear a band that that you know will sound every bit as good live as they do on their CD. To my ears this music conjures up a sort of Jim Jarmusch world of real life sort of left of the mainstream. Life that happens out of the corner of your eye or after the bars close. Get it and listen while you're driving around the other side of the tracks.
