notes

GEORGIA MIDDLEMAN was raised in San Antonio, Texas, and studied theatre at NYU. After moving to Nashville to pursue songwriting, she eventually landed a staff writer position at PolyGram Music and a recording contract with Giant Records. Her album "Endless Possibilities" was released just as Giant's doors were being shuttered. Undaunted, Georgia continued to concentrate on her songwriting - both for herself and for other artists. Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Terri Clark, Joe Nichols, Tracy Lawrence, and others have recorded Georgia's songs.

A versatile and dynamic performer, the requests she receives for her songs led her to record and release her second album under her own independent label. Enlisting friend and co-writer Radney Foster as producer, Georgia's new CD "Unchanged" is raw and organic, and reflects her true personality and compelling live performances. We loved this CD! We have the exact same story as Dai from London, we heard the song Table 32 on the radio here in Ireland and decided to google the artist and the song title. We ordered the CD from CD Baby then and it arrived just a few short days later. We have been listening to it ever since at home or in the car. Table 32 still remains our favourite but the rest of the CD is also well worth a listen - thanks CD Baby!

  • Best CD I've bought in 2007
    author: Dai from London

An obscure song called Table 32 was aired on FM radio in London a couple of weeks ago. I was immediately hooked and did a google search to find Unchanged available from CD Baby. What a find, the best album I have bought this year, there is something quite magical about Georgia's album. I played this CD all weekend when it arrived. You will be very pleased with this album, all the songs are great. CD arrived quickly to me in London, England. Thank you Georgia, will look out for future works by you. Shame you don't tour in Europe.

  • What a rarity, she sings as well as she writes!

After reviewing each song, it is clear Table 32 is the star of this project. Each song is so well written and the performance of each is equally as impressive. I give this cd 5 stars, and encourage every music lover out there, whether they know Georgia's music or not, to buy this cd, as it will become one of the most listened to and valued part of their collection!!

  • A Rarity In Today's Music
    author: Nick Berry

It's very seldom that I come across a CD where every track is listenable to over and over. This one was an exception. There's just nothing bad about it. I am a big fan of Steve Seskin's music and knew that he had co-written, "MichaelAngelo" with Georgia, so after searching, I was elated to find that she had her own CD out of her music. I look forward to hearing more great music in the future. I would definitely recommend this CD to any Country music fan, It's Awesome!

Unchanged truly is a great name for this CD. The songs are down to earth and comfortable! The songs are stories about people you want in your life, and feel like you already know! She sings beautifully and has really shown what an awesome song writer she is! I can't wait for her next album!!!

  • Good solid stuff!

This was my first listen to GM, I was shown the way by a recommendation on the Radney Foster website (who produced this CD). Excellent songs, tastefully arranged with GM's voice to top off an excellent mix. Guitar fans will enjoy Mike McAdam's contribution too!

What a great CD. It is well-produced without being over-produced (organic, as it was described). It's pure music without all the filler you hear so much on CDs these days. The low-key production makes for a very personal feel...which goes right along with the lyrics. Draws you in...you feel it. And then Georgia's voice finishes it off. I love to hear writer's sing their own song...you can tell it is "their baby" by the way they sing it. Truly a wonderful CD.

  • Middleman--A Name to Watch
    author: Timothy Yap

Being responsible for crafting hits such as “Don’t Ruin It for the Rest of Us” (Joe Nichols), “It’s All How You Look at It” (Tracy Lawrence), “I’m In” (The Kinleys and Radney Foster), “Driving into the Sun” (Sherrie Austin), Middleman has parlayed her unparalleled craft to her exceptionally superb sophomore album “Unchanged.” What made Middleton such a sought after tunesmith at Music Row is her ability to allow her music to capture life’s most precocious moments. Her album is no exception: in fact, Middleman has the talent of placing her piercing observations about life and love placed within soundscapes that are both emotionally riveting and sonically memorable. Case in point is the heart wrenching ballad “Now That You’ve Met Molly,” a tear-inducing tale of a single mother trying to win her daughter’s Molly dad back. With such lines such as “If you’re gonna break my heart, if she’s gonna change your mind, if it’s gonna tear apart what seems so hard, for girls like me to find, then maybe you should tell me now. If you plan on backing out I’m not the only heart here on the line now that you’ve met Molly,” you have to have a heart of stone not to be moved. You may also want to have your Kleenex at hand for the acoustic ballad “Table 32.” Accompanied only by a waiting guitar, “Table 32” is a narrative song about a waitress observing two unequally yoked couple with the story ending with a twist. With an uncanny way of drawing the listener in to every syllable coupled with its compelling storyline, Middleman’s performance here is simply exquisite. When it comes to the uptempoes, Middleman shows again that she’s at the top of her game. Middleman’s mellifluous vocals had not sounded more winsome on the breezy “Got It Covered,” a postcard perfect hit in the making. Similarly, “Life’s Been Good to Me,” rides on some amazingly sounding insistent guitar, as Middleman basked in joys of love after the countless toils of heartbreaks. While “Watching Other People Dance,” a Tanya-Tucker like bluesy-rock number about taking chances in life, is embellished by Middleman gritty vocals, prominent guitar, and an urgent tempo. Equally delightful is the soulful “Continuing Education,” complete with a R&B gloss and an infectious dance beat. This time “Continuing Education” unearths the emotional turmoil of a girl unable to get out of an unhealthy relationship; Middleton’s performance here is again excruciating--filled with verve and fervidity. “Unchanged,” produced by Radney Foster (of the Foster and Lloyd fame), is imbued with a crisp, modern country feel and it stands toe to toe with any major product out there. Middleton is country music’s auteur found here in a peak performance. Mark my words--- Middleton is a name to watch.
