notes
Michelle began writing songs and showcasing them in New York City in 1994 where she played many venues including CBs Gallery, The Lounge, Eureka Joe’s Café (RIP) and The Triad Theatre with band mates Bob Kaufmann, Dan Pifer & Cheryl Prashker. Other collaborators include Byron Estep, Paul Greenwood, Mark Lineberry & Tim Ribner.
Her varied musical background and her 4-octave range allow her to bring rich sound to many styles of music including pop/rock, jazz/blues, musical theatre (classic and contemporary) as well as classical.
Her 4-octave range, her particular combination of influences ranging from 60’s pop to jazz standards to gospel and her professional theatrical training allow Michelle to move, delight and incite audiences.
Michelle believes the way to move an audience is to have an authentic experience herself. She aspires to reveal spirit through her creativity, breath and enthusiasm every moment and holds true that “our vulnerability is our strength”.
Michelle is in rehearsal for her upcoming west coast premiere (spring 2008) and teaching her Singing Performance Classes in Portland Oregon. Michelle enjoys working with other songwriters, musical theatre writers, producers and established bands to bring life and voice to their work. Contact her through her website to book session work. www.michellekopper.com
She is committed to hearing and sharing the songs that come, being a voice for truth, healing & hope and she knows no limits to where her voice may go next…
