notes

Casual fans of music and musicians alike will enjoy ‘Latin Journey’. Nine timeless and accessible melodies are skillfully interpreted by bassist Michael Kraft, Grammy-nominated pianist Dana Landry and world-renowned drummer Daniel Messina. Three of the nine tracks are fresh, new arrangements of memorable songs by Jazz legends Charlie Haden, Bill Frisell and Chuck Mangione. What sets the CD aside from many modern Jazz recordings is the groups respect for the average listener. The musicians restrain from self-indulgent extended improvisations, choosing instead to embellish the inherent beauty of the compositions with their individualistic artistic impressions.

Michael Kraft - Basses: University of North Texas Jazz Studies Alumni and Neuklang Recording Artist has performed throughout the US and Germany. His recording debut with Daniel Messina and Dana Landry features self-composed Latin Jazz and original arrangements of Modern Jazz classics.
