notes
As time progresses, it is becoming harder and harder to find a jazz group that plays together on a regular basis. Musicians are forced to spread themselves thin, performing in many situatuions with out firmly commiting to one cause.
Matthew, Phil, and Keith are among the few musicians who get work together on a regular basis. They spend most of their time as the backing trio for jazz vocalist Curtis Stigers, which is where they formed the trio Tri-Fi.
The trio decided to use their time together to form a working three piece unit outside of Curtis's gig. A strong chemistry has grown between these three musicians, documented in the recording Tri-Fi, which they recorded during a month long engagement in New York City.
It is refreshing to hear a recording made by a group that plays over a hundred concerts a year together. Check this group out and hear the difference!
