CD IN STOCK. ORDER NOW. Will ship immediately.
Mellow indie-rock brought forth in a defiantly creative way, including home-made samples of skateboards falling, pianos from university buildings, and cymbals played with spatulas.

notes
Meryll officially formed in October of 2003 at the University of Texas in Austin. After Andrew, Alex, and Kyle had gotten together to put together a few songs, Meryll played their first show in Waco, Texas with eventual label-mates Ethan Durelle.
Over the next 5 months, the group added Art on bass and made their way up into the DFW area, Waco, Houston, and the Rio Grande Valley slowly honing their sound. Early in 2004, Esotype Records offered the band a chance to start working together and Meryll jumped at the chance.
In April of 2004, a relationship between the good folks at Esotype and Meryll began to take hold. The group ducked into the studio to record a song for Er Compilation One. Everyone enjoyed themselves enough to the point where Esotype offered the group a chance to do something more involved in the form of a full-length album.
Tracking began in October of 2004 for what is now known as "You've Got Cousins." The title of the album is an old lyric from the song of the same name, but the line was cut from the demo track. The music from the passage appears on the album, but the only remnants of what Andrew sang appear in the title of the album.
The record was produced completely in-house by Jeff Price & Meryll, save for the mastering which was taken care of by Allen Corneau at Essential Sound down in Houston.
The record was released on February 22, 2005 and will hopefully serve as an alternative to an industry where the trend is, unfortunately, repetition and laziness when it comes to art and the way it is created.

Meryll Go Top
author: DavidBack in the day, records such as 'You've Got Cousins' had lots of airplay on alternative FM radio staions. Thank God for college radio stations as I never would have found such sublime sounds on today's commercial air waves. Two thumbs up for this band and its music.
Great
author: VannI have to admit that my favorite records had to grow on me like a fungus or a new pair of pants. Meryll is a good pair of pants, or penicillin. After the first listen I was mildly entertained, after the 2nd listen I was slightly uplifted, after the 3rd listen, I was singing along to each song, not even sure what the lyrics were as there is no lyric sheet to be found. This album is excellent, no question. I read some other reviews about it and was quite upset that nobody found this album as a hidden jewel as much as I did.
yes
author: Phuerton SkuertoThe make out album of the century, whether you're woman, child, man or animal.
Excellent but...
author: John BlackbournI love this album, however, Merryl first recorded "Inside On a Day Like Today? I'm Outraged!" back in 2003 when they were known as Merrill. The original recording is, in my opinion, better than the version found on this album. You can download the MP3 of it on Merrill's old (and now defunct) website at http://www.unshadowed.com/merrill/mp3.html and while you're there get "Willamette Industries" too - it's a great little track!

author: john sabastianokay, i do not buy very many records these days because there are not very many records that are worth buying except for j-lo's last album and brittany's! just kidding, BIG TIME! this record has what i consider 10 perfect songs. each one crafted in the most wonderful way. this is a record that you can listen to anywhere, anytime with anyone standing around in your company. there is nothing to explain, put it in the player and the second the first note on the guitar comes in you are hooked. i would strongly recommend this cd to anyone and everyone! get a copy as soon as you can.
