The band MerKaBa was inspired by the ancient Egyptian word Merkaba, “Mer" meaning Light, "Ka" means Spirit, and "Ba" means Body -- Creating counter-rotating fields of Light as a vehicle to transport one's spirit/Body from one dimension into another.

The band MerKaBa was inspired by the ancient Egyptian word Merkaba, "Mer" meaning Light, "Ka" means Spirit, and "Ba" means Body -- Creating counter-rotating fields of Light as a vehicle to transport one's spirit/Body from one dimension into another.
Started by Richard "Wayo" Hogan, a veteran composer and performer, the music of MerKaBa was borne to lift your spirits and transport you to another place. MerKaBa's music is feel good rockin' dance music--that really does lift your spirits.
In 1998, singer songwriter Wayo brought in longtime collaborators: producer/engineer, bassist and songwriting partner, Steve Boyce, and vocalist Kevin Currie. Although the trio had worked together in previous bands, the chemistry with MerKaBa was immediate. Their unique and diverse talents blended together in a way that allowed them to take the music to the next level. The result was a new and totally unique sound.
With an eclectic repertoire ranging from lyrical songsmithing, and powerful harmonies. MerKaBa brings together the big sound of electrified and acoustic guitar, keyboards, bass, percussion, and flute. Although it is difficult to attach it to just one musical genre, it could be described as rock, pop and world beat.

Nice blend of new age, electronica, tribal and rock. Like the lyrics. Can definitely hear the Yes influence. Love the title and meaning behind it. Check it out.
