Meredythe Dee Winter (Founder/Executive Producer of Planet X Action Sports Television): Meredythe holds a B.A. in Communications/Visual Arts, emphasis Film & Animation from UCSD, and an M.A. in Creative Arts Interdisciplinary Studies, emphasis Film & Animation, Video, and Computer Art from SFSU. Certified Black Belt Nia Instructor, currently the only Nia Black Belt in San Diego County. In '85, she worked in Hollywood on various feature films, TV shows and music videos (in production and as talent). Meredythe worked for the new Comedy Channel, as an assistant to Mitzi Shore, co-authored and wrote songs for the screenplay "Sniffles" with Producer/Actor Ross Hagen, and was an assistant to the Hagens on a numerous movie projects. One film, "Reel Horror," she was a Producer and had a featured role as the Ghost of Mary Pickford. Reel Horror gained notable attention at the 1986 Milan Film Festival. In 1986, she developed an art education program based on Environmental Awareness via Fine Art & Media for homeless & under-served youth at the St. Vincent de Paul Center for the Homeless in San Diego. This was funded through grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, U.S. Dept. of Justice, ARCO Foundation & others. In '91, she received the Bob Marley Peace Award for her work with kids.
From 1992-94, she helped develop and performed with the Drip Dudes Live, an eco-based group who performed at many events, theme parks and international tours. In 1994, she made her first children's album in Germany to teach English through song. Her second album, Planet One Songs, featuring Meredythe & The Recycle! Kids has recently been released. Through her relationships with the United Nations, Peace Corps, World Affairs Council and other organizations, she produced and hosted six half-hour Planet One Specials that aired on Kaleidoscope Television and other outlets. This globally aware kids TV series was sponsored by Apple Computers, Dr. Martens Shoes and Kinetix.
Meredythe was recently seen on The Tonight Show's "Pitch To America" NATPE 2005 rapping her pitch about the new family TV series, "POW! Planet One Workout" an eco-conscious health & fitness show, that will hit TV soon. Besides being Executive Producer of Planet X, and Encore Wam's Planet XYZ, she enjoys interviewing celebrities for Planet One Workout and for www.planet1.com She has won numerous ASCAP Awards for Children's Educational Music ('99-'07) and was a recent finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Children's Category). She is also a Certified Black Belt Nia Intructor (www.nianow.com)teaching this fitness form to kids and adults. Meredythe is now developing a documentary, TV movie and TV series based on the life of 19th Century New Orleans Saint, Margaret Haughery(www.angelofthedelta.org), as well as several animation properties and game shows.
