Hey Y'all !! My name is Mary Elizabeth Murphy! But my friends either call me Mary or Elizabeth! I'm 16. I am a Christian! I love God with all my heart!! I LOVE to sing!! It's my passion! I have wanted to be a singer/songwriter for as long as I can remember. As you can see I have a just completed by Debut CD, produced by the very talented Dave Brainard in Nashville!! I have a WONDERFUL voice coach, Mrs. Teresa Smith!! She is a very amazing talented person, and I thank her for everything she's done (and is doing) for me!
We spent countless hours working on original songs for my CD. It was really hard, but we finally decided on the 8 songs on this album. I am so thankful to each songwriter of these beautiful songs. Each one touched my heart in a special way.
I love to perform. In 2007, I was runner up in the West TN Idol /Colgate Country Countdown Contest. And was also runner up in the Loretta Lynn's Ranch Talent Search. In the first contest, one of the judges compared me to a cross of Reba and Hannah Montana. I think it may be because I talk country like Reba, and am about the same age and size of Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus). Any way he meant, I take it as a great compliment!
I really want to be a good role model to young people (and old) who hear my music. Too much of the time, young stars lead people down a road they should stay away from. I want to show that you CAN sing the music you love, and still keep yourself respectable.
I want to thank my parents so much for supporting me no matter what! Family and friends are what make this "road to success" so wonderful. It would be a lonely place without them.
