Alexia Melnychuk is a Singer Songwriter out of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. This is her debut release of 5 original songs.
In March 2007, she hit the road with Singer Songwriter Lara Yule Singh for their first tour of Western Canada and will cover Eastern Cananda this coming August.
She is currently at work on a follow up to her debut, a full length CD due out Winter 2007.

Flying Machine
author: Quennel DelhomeauReading all the other reviews here (which I echo in their comments), I try to find one word to describe what I feel when listening to Alexia's music: tranquility. Diamonds is my favorite track. I can hardly wait for the next album. Her voice is amazing!
a calming and tranquil musical experience
author: CherylAlexia does a great job on her debut CD. She delivers a solid lineup of tunes, very relaxing and introspective music. I love the meaningful lyrics and her voice is so soothing. I can't wait for the full length version!

author: Stevei first heard alexia melnychuk through a link on someone's myspace page. that very instant i was HOOKED! her voice is as pure as the emotions she sings about, and the lyrics could stand on their own... but i'm glad they don't have to! "i don't regret any words whispered. i don't regret any words spoken. i'll carrry them with me." - from "flying machine" that's one of my favorite lyrics from ANY song ever. and YOU won't regret purchasing "flying machine". in fact, buy more than one, and give them to friends... i did! as a singer-songwriter, alexia has a lot to say, and does it in such a way that you're happy to listen. her music leaves you with such a good feeling, with hope and love and longing in every phrase and chord. just listen, and you'll know. i can't wait for her next offering. alexia, you're amazing!
Melnychuk on her to excellence

Clear, powerful, pitched perfectly, and widely expressive, it carries the music on this first short CD to heights that even other more experienced vocalists couldn't reach. Her harmonies are exquisite. The overall effect may be ever so slightly too sweet in places, the lyrics and her execution of them just a touch too cliché at times, but even these slight misses rarely pull me out of my enjoyment of these songs. Her work here has plenty enough strength at its core to easily keep my interest and enjoyment with repeated listening, which is more than can be said for a large number of more derivative first efforts. Most of all, there is a sign of uniqueness in Melnychuk's songs that, while perhaps not wholly fulfilled yet on this CD, reveals at its foundation a huge potential for the future. She's miles above many other newcomers to the music scene, and I'm sure will only grow stronger with time and experience. I intend to keep listening, and expect I won't be disappointed.
